Awesome guitar playing over some lush orchestrated backing tracks of classical standards. Guitar playing gets 5 stars!

Drums..dear oh dear! Who on earth mixed this? Appreciate that essentially Lynch has solo'd over backing tracks, fine. Not sure if the drums are programmed or real, but they sit way to high in the mix. They are almost awkward to the ear! Sounds like a live drummer is sitting in the room with you whilst your listening to the CD. Way more prominant than anything else!! Only one or two songs have a mix in the drum dept that sounds right too me. The drums dominate a record thats all about guitar playing! Understand that this is supposed to be a "rock" version of classical music, but it would have actually worked better if the drums were sitting better within the mix. I can only hazzard a guess that this "project" was a case of Lynch came in, solo'd over the backings and left the music in the hands of the label folk, who then did the mix and put it out.

So..as a fan, i'm loving Lynch's mix of his classic Lynch style playing and neo-classical prowess. The guy has a lot of strings to his bow. But sadly, this record is let-down in the drum sound dept that makes it a "have to be in the mood" for it type of record. My patience is tested with the mix. Sorry George.

Lynch..demand a re-mix! It deserves it.
