Brilliant UK Drama 15 Dec 2010
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Being Australian ex-pats we are always on the look out for UK television. Moving on is the finest TV we have watched in years. We thoroughly enjoyed The Street - left wanting more and we just could not wait to get our hands on Moving On series 1 - we were blown away - better than The Street and then when series 2 became available - well - we were not disappointed.
Moving On is the best drama anyone could ever hope to watch. All actors are extremely well cast - all storylines are just like real life - no hype, no over-acting, no excess glamour, just straightforward gritty acting. We have laughed, we have been moved to tears and we have been sat on the edge of our seats. Please, please bring on series 3 - we are sad addicts

A pure gem ! 27 Dec 2010
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have to agree with "cracker", season 2 is just first class. I say better than season one as i had just finished watching "the street" which was quite outstanding and then along comes "moving on" and i felt let down.I say let down, because i was quite bowled over by the street and was expecting something along similar lines.

In moving on series 2, Mr McGovern has created another gem and each epsisode was just superb. Ten individual standalone episodes make for first rate television. The actors, the acting and story-lines are just the best that British television can produce.

I really feel that Jimmy McGovern is in a class of his own and i can highly recommend anything this guy has written. So please keep them coming !!!

Having enjoyed series one of Moving On I was pleasantly surprised that a second series was commission with twice as many episodes. This bumper crop features 10 stand alone stories very much in the same mould as the first series. Filmed in and around Liverpool, Moving On is the brain child of legendary writer Jimmy McGovern (who devised Cracker and The Street). Here he has delivered a gentle daytime drama that deals with social issues that affects people every day. This series focuses on the topics of alzheimer's disease, adoption, binge drinking, learning difficulties, coming out of prison and coming to terms with middle age. Again each episode is carried marvously by some excellent actors including John Simm, Jenny Agutter, Robert Glenister, Anne Reid, Hugo Speer, Claire Skinner, Roy Marsden and Corin Redgrave (who sadly passed away not long after filming his episode). I actually watched the whole set over two nights, so it just proves what an enjoyable series this is. Well worth the value considering you get twice as much viewing time as the first series.
