5.0 out of 5 stars A must have 28 Nov 2003
By mr
Format:Audio CD
I bought this CD while I was on holiday this summer in Lisbon, After hearing one of their songs playing in the local radio I decided to buy one of their CDs.
There isnt a week when I dont play this CD, it is so relaxing, and her voice is something out of this world.
My favorite track on this album is Ecos na Cathedral.
I hope you will enjoy this CD as much as me

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring, expressive music 3 Dec 2001
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This is the second Madredeus CD I have listened to, and I am impressed. Teresa Salgueiro has an angelic voice, and the instrumental musicians blend with her beautifully. The group seems to work intuitively; their music is remarkably together and unified. I don't speak Portuguese, so I had to read the liner notes to understand their messages, which are remarkable, things we can all identify with. The music is beautiful in itself, however, and the tracks seem to connect as if in a story. This CD is ideal for moods of introspection and for mid-day reveries as you go from one obligation in your life to the next.

5.0 out of 5 stars MAGICAL 23 July 2002
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I am Portuguese, aged 29 and was only 14 years old when Madredeus appeared as a musical group.
Since then, I have been following closely their carreer.
After so many years, seeing how they became better and better, listening to their records and going to so many concerts, I can only say that this group has changed my life.
Their music is truly magical... For us, here in Portugal, it's with great emotion that we see the success they have achieved both here and abroad.
The last album "Movimento" is almost a review of all those years behind and how the future should be: with peace, love and faith.
Madredeus make me feel hopeful and fight for a better future for us all: that is the message of Movimento.
And that is true magic: being able to express in words and through a magnificent voice what we all feel and hope.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Masterpiece from Excellent Musicians 25 July 2001
By Thomas V. Millington - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Every time Madredeus releases a new album I am never disappointed and "Movimento" is no exception. Teresa Salgueiro's beautiful voice backed up by excellent playing from Pedro Ayres Magalhaes, Jose Peixoto, Carlos Maria Trindade and Fernando Judice make this an experience worth listening to. As usual, Magalhaes's compositions are superb and Salguiero's interpretations are unique and ethereal. I can think of no other voice that can touch and affect me the way Salgueiro's does. Although I like all the songs on this CD, particular favorites of mine are "Ecos na Catedral", "O Olhar", "A Quimera" and "Vozes no Mar". I highly recommend this CD to any music fan. If you have never heard of Madredeus before and you decide to buy the CD you will not be disappointed. This is an excellent CD.

4.0 out of 5 stars moody 8 May 2002
By A. Saha - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
many of the songs are excellent moody compositions, with Therese's haunting voice and very good instrumental backup. As they are very good musicians, there is a lot of finesse and intricate playing and arrangements. The music appeals to rainy afternoons. After a while it gets one dimensional though, and requires a rest of a week or so, afterwhich it sounds fresh again. But that is my personal experience. Fado music is like that, as far as I have heard.

5.0 out of 5 stars The old magic is back 25 May 2001
By "flsousa" - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
If you already know MadreDeus, there are no big surprises here. Teresa Salgueiro's voice has darkened a little bit, the accordeonist Gabriel Gomes is back( and that is good news, at least for me ), after leaving for some time for is own project " Danças Ocultas", whose records are unfortunately not available at the United States, but the calm and soft melodies have the same quality as before. If you read the lyrics, you will find perhaps a more disappointed vision of life than before, but that will not make you discard the album. If you are already a fan, buy without reserve. If not, this album, with its generous timing ( 78 min. ) is certainly a good way to start your collection.
