In this highly useful book, John Bidwell manages to combine a balanced mixture of practical and psychological advice. There are plenty of illustrations and photographs to back up John's highly successful and proven shooting technique. Even though the book only concentrates on John's technique, namely Move, Mount,Shoot, there is plenty there to think about and digest even for the most accomplished shooter. The video of the same title is pretty good too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent reference 1 April 2005

Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
Well written, assumes you know the basics. Pictures could be clearer, or possibly annotated to show clay position and direction.
This book does not fall into the common trap of becoming a eulogy to the author - no "when I won X competition", "when I was world champion...". John Bidwell has been there and done that, and doesn't boast about it.
This book may not improve your scores, but it can point you in the right direction, and make you look at your technique in a different light, and as such is to be strongly recommended.

2.0 out of 5 stars not worth it 5 Aug 2011

Format:Hardcover
This is a rather wordy and old-fashioned book lacking useful pictures There are better books out there, e.g. Breaking Clays.

4.0 out of 5 stars So far a good read 7 Jun 2013
By Graham
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have only had a quick read through of this so far but it looks like a good buy (£2.81 inc p&p!). An easy to read writing style and clear explanations. Picture and diagrams are a bit basic, but no matter as it is the text that is important. Whether the technique works for me has yet to be tested, but like most I already use maintained lead for many targets, so it should not be too great a leap? My favourite coach is Chris Batha (Breaking Clays) and I bought this as he describes it as "excellent".
