I am a keen lover of African music, I have lots, but I found this album deeply uninteresting. There's something missing here, it's very empty music, no deep African soul, paint-by-numbers stuff. Outwardly the music sounds African, and some of it is pretty, but you wouldn't call it rootsy, as it has a lot of commercial Western touches, like programmed drums and other electronica. Kind of African wallpaper music. Toure Kunda just don't do it for me. For greater originality and more bang for your buck, I'd recommend the likes of Oliver Mtukudzi, Salif Keita, Habib Koite, Cheikh Lo or Baaba Maal all of whom are many levels above these guys.

I am an avid listener to African music and Toure Kunda stands out as an example of everything beautiful about African music talent. From the first track "CINDY" to the last track "DJILOLY" one is mesmerised by this poetry in song and tight rhythm. He takes the polished listener through a journey that never ends and to the very last song I was mesmerised by this incredible musical talent.Toure Kunda has entered the realm of African musical legends and in my musical ear stands tall up there with the likes of Papa Wemba,Youssou N'dour,Baba Maal to name a few.Mr Kunda, as an African diaspora I bow to you with respect and as a Physician in Canada I worship your therapeautic tenor to all the Africans living as Africans outside that great continent. Please give us more of your amazing talent. You are a great creator and I look forward to more of your healing and creative entertaining music.Thank you.

I have heard many Toure Kunda songs but this CD is definitely one that has impressed me the most from top to bottom. It is very traditional and easy listening. A "must have" if you are a world music lover of any kind.
