Product delivers pretty much what you would expect from the description however it is worthy of note that there is quite a high degree of illumination emitted and despite it being a wall mounted heater the instructions effectively state that it should not be mounted any where near a combustible surface, this rules out most walls! I suspect that there is a degree of catch all safety consciousness here but the heater does get really quite hot. I have yet to test the heat output at different distances, but initial reaction is that despite it being described as an infra red heater a very significant amount of the heat output is convectional not radiant. Given time I will test the radiant heat emitted against two conventional 500 watt and one 350 watt halogen flood lights (total 1300 watts) , I suspect that there might not be as much difference as might be expected.

These things (I bought 4) ALL burnt out and melted the bulb ends in a matte of hours - and in an internal environment. I bought new bulbs this year, and repeat performance/s on all.

Now sitting redundant in garage awaiting disposal on a used/working/no guarantee basis sale/auction.

Buy on known quality and not on low price will be my future mandate and suggestion to others.

No good 16 Feb 2011
By Ribraff
I bought one of these to use in my workshop to heat a long table on which I assemble Inflatable boat parts. The first bulb lasted about an hour and a half and so was replaced. The second one lasted about 8 hours before the end melted off and fell apart. these are an expensive way of providing heat that's for sure and the fact that they were inside and not subjected to extremes of temperature leads me to conclude that they are a pile of dung!
