Product Description

Joanne Walker has survived an encounter with the Master at great personal cost, but now her father is missing—stolen from the timeline. She must finally return to North Carolina to find him--and to meet Aidan, the son she left behind long ago. That would be enough for any shaman to face, but Joanne's beloved Appalachians are being torn apart by an evil reaching forward from the distant past. Anything that gets in its way becomes tainted--or worse. And Aidan has gotten in the way. Only by calling on every aspect of her shamanic powers can Joanne pull the past apart and weave a better future. It will take everything she has—and more. Unless she can turn back time...

2.0 out of 5 stars Procrastination is not Jo's friend! 13 May 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Ms. Murphy admits that this book was written under a deadline and after prolonged procrastination, and it shows. What should be one of the most exciting books of the series - with it's implied impending climax between Jo and Michael - turns out to be the dullest! Here's hoping Shaman Rises deserves more consideration, as Murphy is one of the best when she's on form.

4.0 out of 5 stars I'm gonna miss her 12 May 2013
By Jackie
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I have loved this series, and the e book with more background information.

After all the excitement of the last book, I was approaching this one a little sadly knowing the series is to end soon. But on reflection, I have seen so many series go on a downward spiral trying to keep going long after the sell by date, I am content!

The book was great, characters, as always, true. I enjoyed learning a little bit more about Joanne's past, and happy for her to be learning also about what she remembered and what actually was going on and why.

My only reason for 4 and not 5 stars is that I had begun to really get irritated by the constant comments by her that she should have figured something out, that yet again she only realised too late what she should have done. I understand that because of her situation she is learning 'on the job' as it were, but, sorry I was really getting irritated.

Apart from that loved it, missed Gary not being there, but obviously he will figure largely in the next/last book, according to the ending!

5.0 out of 5 stars Catie kept me up all night again 11 Nov 2013

I should know better by now than to start reading anything by CE Murphy at bed time. 5am on a Monday is a bad time to finally stop reading!

Excellent adventure with Joanne, Morrison, her father and her son.
