Well-researched and pretty darn handy,

Why bother with a guide book in the age of the internet? Well, as well as being a handy reference , this also has plenty of info that you wouldn't be able to get from Google. It covers hundreds of official and unofficial trails and gives clear information on each one such as facilities, location (including postcodes for satnav/Google Earth), and what type of riding is on offer. As well as the usual XC trails and trail centres there are DH tracks, freeride and jump spots, and family trails. It doesn't cover every place to ride in the UK, but it's got a pretty good spread. Chances are that you will spot somewhere near to you that you never knew existed, or were only vaguely aware of, and be inspired to go and check it out. Considering how fast the MTB scene in the UK is moving at the moment, it's very up to date, and going on the trails I've ridden the descriptions are accurate and straightforward. The photos are mostly by local riders and complement the descriptions nicely, and added extras - like Josh Bryceland's riding tips - are good too.

Top Notch book,

It may be small in size, but with nearly 300 hundred pages, it is crammed with helpful info. Details of my local trails are accurate, which gives me the confidence to rely on it when travelling further afield. Indespersed with interviews with well known riders, and tips to help you get the most out of your trips, it's got all the info you want, and with the odd bit of humour too, if you look carefully!

I had high expectations of this book after MTB Europe, and it didn't disappoint. Wherever you are based in the UK or visiting the UK the detail, pictures and location maps are very helpful. My calendar dates are already altered for the new locations I'm hoping to ride. Good stuff.
