Mount Pleasant is one of the finest comedy/dramas I have seen for a long time.
When I saw the trailer I thought it was going to be rather tacky and I actually wasn't going to bother but thought I'd give it a try. I am a great fan of these sort of programmes and try to keep an open mind!
I was hooked after five minutes. The characters are really believable, not unlike many residents of new-build working/middle-class housing estates!
Glamorous it is not, and that's what makes it so watchable because you can really relate to the goings-on.
It was really pleasing to see Pauline Collins back, she is, by far an outstanding actress and I have always been a fan of hers. She is amazing in this and has been cast very well. Her on-screen husband, Bobby Ball is equally brilliant. They are a valuable asset to an already good series.
In fact there isn't an unlikeable character amongst them and the acting is first-class all round.
It's also very modern and up to date which worried me at first as I thought it was going to be wall-to-wall sex and swearing but I couldn't have been more wrong. Yes, there is bad language, but not just for the sake of it. I feel this is a series that will appeal to young and old alike. The humour is really sharp and I have laughed out loud alot. I totally recommend it

Mount Pleasant was a very pleasant surprise, thought from the adverts it looked amazing on viewing of the first episode I wasn't sure. It's very OTT and filmed in different way to normal dramas, can't quite describe but if you've seen it you'll know what I mean! But, after the first episode I was HOOKED! Watched every week religiously, the storylines are very gripping and interesting. Different ideas too and lots of twists in the story. The show boasts an excellent cast, all of whom really bring their characters to life, brilliantly acted and wonderful script writing. So funny and many occasions it has had me laughing out loud with excellent comedic timing. Cannot wait to have this on DVD wish it came out sooner seeing as the last episode is showing next week. Really want a second series cannot wait to see more from this show, it has lots of potential and has fastly become one of my favourite comedy dramas of all time!

When I started watching this I must admit I thought it was going to be another one of those mundane "we tried but it failed" sort of programmes... but I must admit it really isnt and it really suprised me with it's quality. After just 1 episode I was hooked on the series and couldnt wait for future episodes to be aired. The programmes mixes comedy and drama very well so you get a good laugh, but there's also enough drama in their so that you want to follow the charecters... its the perfect comedy-drama!

The cast of this show where great. Brilliant names including Bobby Ball and Angela Griffin made this show a great triump, with both their presence and their excellent performance - they where funny, dramatic and above all believeable. I must also say well done to the writers they did a great job with this programme. A great mix of comedy and drama writing - perfectly blended with eachover. Well Done.

A really good and honest programme and I am happy to say that a second series has been announced and I will buy this DVD. A great little series :D

Always love a TV series, so decided on this one as it's got Pauline Collins in it. Maybe I'm a bit prudish, but there's a fair bit of swearing and the characters in some story lines are over the top. A bit too much "over acting" I think. Needs to be toned down a bit with the language and the "sillyiness" of the characters.

Could not stick with this level of pettiness, I'm afraid. I hoped for a Stella type series but the writing of Mount Pleasant is no where near as good as Stella. The characters are distinct but they are so mundane, predictable and just plain dull.

Mount Pleasant is a fantastic T.V show, i have to admit that i did think this would be another poor brittish sitcom, but i was delighted to find out the opposite. The show has wit, humour and drama all rolled into one and i was hooked after just the first episode. One criticism is that Adrian Bower( character Greg in mount pleasant) has no mention in the characer listing on the DVD cover,he was the only reason why i purchased this series as i was a huge fan of channel 4's Teachers in which he played P.E teacher Brian.

This is the best series I have bought in a long time. Reminds me of Brian Rix farces from the gold old days. The humour is excellent. The cast is made up of some very well known actors and actresses that you would expect to be first class but the lesser well known ones are equally good. The plot lines are so far fetched but amazingly t
you are drawn in and they become credible. Can't wait for series three to start on tv and I am eagerly awaiting series 2 on DVD.
