Product Description

Motto is the third album by Leeds trio Sky Larkin on Wichita Recordings. Recorded with long-term collaborator, producer John Goodmanson (Girls, Sleater Kinney, Los Campesinos!) in Seattle, Motto showcases Sky Larkin’s unshakable ability to conjure immediately satisfying, vibrant indie rock. The album was written for the most part whilst Sky Larkin singer and guitarist Katie Harkin was on the road as a touring member of Wild Beasts and captures a typically varied set of themes as its inspiration.

Most Helpful Customer Reviews

By Peter Hill on 28 Nov. 2013
Format: Audio CD
Their first two albums came in quick succession back in 2009 & 2010 but this one's taken 3 years to appear during which time they've acquired a second guitarist and Katie (singer/guitarist) has taken time out to tour with Wild Beasts.
If you're familiar with their first two albums this one's not especially different (which is good of course) but perhaps it's a bit more heavier/noisier overall, probably due to the additional layer of guitars, and some songs are more extended a couple being 5 & 6 plus minutes long.
A very good album (again) and if you like The Throwing Muses or Sleater-Kinney this should be right up your street.
