This is most of the long-lost 'Jimmy Webb' album with some other tracks from the 70's Supremes such as Stoned Love, and Together we can make such sweet music from the wonderful 'New Ways but Love Stays', and Nathan Jones from 'Floy Joy'. These tracks are superb. Stoned Love is a classic 70's anthem, which was originally preceded by 'Together we can...' on 'New Ways' and phased into it. Shame not to do that here. However, both tracks are masterpieces and the hard edge that Jean Terrels voice sometimes has is softened. Of the Jimmy Webb tracks, 5.30 plane has an irresistable hook melody, while Paradise, Silent Voices and Tossin and Turnin show the Supremes to be masters of their craft. It's as though they were recorded in your front room, and I don't mean that as an insult. It is uplifting and intimate. Your hear their voices, as well as the songs. When will Motown realise what fans want and re-release the 70's Supremes catalogue on CD in total? Futhermore - what on EARTH are Diana Ross and the Supremes doing on this cover? These tracks were recorded long after Ross left them, and proves that some of the Supremes best work was done during this period. Say I ! Say yeah!
