This is a good collection of Motown hits for guitar. The song selection is weighted toward the 60s and 70s hits with many of the songs featuring the Jacksons, Stevie Wonder, the Supremes, and the Temptations. Many of the Motown #1 hits are covered as you can see by peaking at the table of contents. Don't expect any melody or guitar solo lines. This book is for strummers.
The songs are presented typically on opposing leafs so you can play an entire song without flipping pages. The transcriptions are good, but occasionally a chord does not line up with the lyrics, and occasionally a chord is omitted. Some typos here and there.
The binding is rather stiff, so it takes effort to make the book lay flat. Like all the Hal Leonard Songbooks, I took my copy to the local office supply story, had them slice off the glue binding, and add a perforated spiral binding. Now it lays flat.
