5.0 out of 5 stars Too good to be true, 20 Oct 2008

A slim retro-esque mobile phone for a fiver with a fiver's worth of free calls thrown in ? It seems to good to be true but after receiving the phone today I have to say I can't see a catch. It really is a nice bit of kit with a large touch pad..ideal for pudding fingers like me...and large screen text which can be easily seen without squinting.
Also included is a gel phone cover which protects but which allows phone dialing.
How do they do it ????
Just to add one week later. It really is a cracking phone and I'll probably get another to keep in reserve as I have a habit of losing mobiles !

1.0 out of 5 stars The worst phone in the world!!!!, 10 Dec 2008

This is easily the most infuriating thing I've ever been dumb enough to buy!

The menu makes no sense, and is difficult to navigate. To keeps things really simple, instead of having a graphic menu that is designed for easy use for human beings, the 'advance settings' (such as turning off the keypad tones) have to be accessed using codes.

The screen only holds a few (I think 6) characters, so if you want to type/ read a text message of any normal length, you have to scroll endlessly, plus any word longer than six letters will appear across 2 screens, which is also annoying. It's also difficult to read a phone number as this also has to be scrolled through.

Also, the texting facility only has a few punctuation marks (I think only - , @ ?). Given how anal I am about using proper English when I can, I was most upset at there not being a full stop. Given the lack of an obvious folder system, it's difficult to check whether a text message has been sent, or if it is pending etc.

Accessing the phone book is quite hard, as names never fit on one screen, and if the name has 2 parts, the second part is given first. This would work if all the number in my phone book were in the form 'given name; surname,' but if you have something like 'Security Office' or 'Mum's House,' it gets a bit confusing.

On the plus side, the phone is quite pretty, if totally useless.

1.0 out of 5 stars waste of time, 5 Dec 2008
By Dominic J. Noonan (yorkshire england) - See all my reviews

This phone is rubbish. I've spent an hour studying it and it makes me laugh at how rubbish it is. The text looks like a child has been practicing it's hand writing and getting muddled up with capitals and small letters, one word will take up the whole screen and often only part of a word. It's as if it's the first mobile phone ever invented.
How on earth did it ever get onto the market? I read the reviews and apparently someone bought two of them! Ah that's funny.
