Feels good to be less wind-affected, 7 Oct 2004
This review is from: Motorola HS810 Wireless Headset (Bluetooth), UK Plug (Electronics)
Having tried out a number of different Bluetooth headsets, the HS810 is so far the only one that has been any good outdoors. As the microphone is located on the inner side of the headset (ie against your face), when the wind is blowing it affects the headset very little. I'd even go so far as to say that it's better to use this headset when it's windy than to use the phone normally when it's windy (I own a v500). The clarity is also pretty good - the sound is loud enough and can be increased from default, and the microphone picks up my voice very well. Once paired, the headset also connects automatically to the paired phone once turned on, so no more needing to use the phone to search for the headset. There are some minor weaknesses however; the microphone picks up on a fair amount of noise, although it is still possible to have a decent conversation with someone, even while crossing a dual carriageway, with dozens of lorries thundering past.. I have even managed to use voice dialing when crossing the same road, so this function works very well. Also, the headset is a little bit heavy, but I think this is more due to the inflexible ear clip, which I found awkward to put on at first. Overall, this is the only BT headset I have tried which is suitable for outdoor use, so if you are going to use your headset while on a bike etc, this headset gets my highest rating.

Clearly the best, 11 Aug 2004

The Motorola HS810 is the best Bluetooth headset money can buy. It is small light and extremely easy to use. if you like flip phones you will definately like this headset, with a simple flip the device is activated and deactivates by closing the flip. i have tried and tested other devies. For example the Jabra 250, and found that it was not as clear as it was supposed to be. The Motorola is the one to go for in my opinion.

The Holy Grail of Blutooth Headsets, 27 Dec 2004
This review is from: Motorola HS810 Wireless Headset (Bluetooth), UK Plug (Electronics)
And here's why... 1) The battery life is excellent 2) To save battery time, just leave it folded up and flip it open when your phone rings 3) Because not only will it automatically answer the phone, it will also (with my Nokia 6600) automatically connect itself to the phone without me needing to faff around . This is my third blutooth headset - a Nokia one a couple of years ago (trash battery, faffy) and a Plantronics m3000 (great battery but fiddly ands clumsy compared to the Motorola). Quite simply, it's light, comfy, got a great battery, discreet, easy to control... just about everything blutooth hadsets promised this actually delivers!
