5.0 out of 5 stars excellent phone 8 Sep 2011
By don
this phone does what it says i run my own buisness and this phone is superb when im on the road i can access my server (snology diskstaion) through the apps and do everything i can do on a computer (word spreadsheets presentations and soon my accounts new sage 2012 programe is comming and there is an app coming out for android phones for the full operation of sage) the operating system is very fast easy access to my contacts and there status i have also purchased the lapdock which is a great addition i now its expensive for what it is but for buisness its a great tool no need to carry a laptop any more and when you connect the phone no need to wait for the laptop to start up no need to go into finer detail because all new phones do the just about the same thing apps email contact internet cameras etc etc as a buisness user this phone is spot on other phones in the house hold are blackberry curve 8520 and iphone 4 both good phones but the atrix has the edge in ease of use and the lapdock is a touch of genius

4.0 out of 5 stars Overall a great phone 29 Aug 2011
I had the Motorola Atrix as a upgrade from my Blackberry 9700, after owning it for about 3months now I think the Atrix is a great phone.

The internet is much faster than that of my BlackBerry, the screen is fantastic, many of my friends have iPhones and I believe that the screen on the Atrix is more realible and has a better sensitivity on the touch screen. Videos look amazing too. The camera quality is good, however a dedicated camera button would be helpful as you have to use the screen to take the photos.

One issue I faced when buying such a fast, hi-tech phone was the battery life. I googled for ages trying to find a realible source to prove to me that the battery life is worth it, and it is. I get on average 54hours of charge from one charge, I'm a heavy user, average of 300texts a day, WIFI on 24/7. Recently found that when I was in Greece I got 3 days from the battery as I hardly used the phone.

The phone can often get hot, never overheating though. This isn't really a issue as nothing comes from it, however I feel that later on in the phones life it might start to take toll with the phone restarting.

Overall, the Atrix is a great phone and has filled the place of my BlackBerry well. I would suggest it to anyone thinking of buying it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dual Core Goodies 12 Mar 2012
Long term owwner of many Motorola products right back to the Star-Tac, did I admit that?

This replaced my Motorola Defy, which although not nearly as tough as they said, I dearly loved. It did have a few minor faults, albeit oddly appeared after it took a knock it did not recover from (well the screen did not as everything else worked fine ... errr including the screen).

Enter stage left the Motorola Atrix which is the phone they launched a couple of months after I purchased my Defy that had me crying into my cornflakes! For a phone that is a year old it is still fairly capable. Mine updated to Gingerbread immediately upon turning it on.

The screen is bigger than the Defy's, though only 0.25 inch it seems bigger, and very nice though not quite as sharp as the Defys and not an Amoled Screen either. Still I am not complaining right now and as only the Motorola Razr Maxx and the Samsung Galaxy 3 are of ny interest to me and some months from coming out anyway I am more than happy with this at the price, though mine was £350 and not from Amazon quite unfortunately.

Also you have the finger print reader too which doubles up as the power button, sadly missing on the Atrix 2!! Now why they removed that I do not know, though I must admit swiping your finger over the reader while holding the phone with one hand is somewhat awkward, though NOT impossible. It works extremely well too and if you swipe half hearted with the correct finger it will NOT unlock. SO the security is satisfying, certainly for me, and will no doubt have a wow factor.

Now a wow factor on a phone that was launched over a year ago? Now that is something I am pleased to say that Motorola started getting back into, well for two models anyway.

After doing my research and visiting complaints forums, I didnt find any glaring or constant issue presented that should scrae me away from this phone, the specs are very impressive: [...]
and above all the processor has turned out to be everything i hoped it would be... for playing movies its fantastic and has a screen that is delightfull. Games have a perfect frame rate, and load fast... mobile data is also very fast on this handset... Compared with other handsets include my old iphone 4 watching video streams is so quick on either mobile or wifi.
Seriously recommmend this phone,

Fingerprint lock is a very nice touch but dont worry its not mandatory but is a great extra and it works well.
