About Motörheadphönes

No weak-kneed, lily-livered, tin-pot and skinny sounding little pieces of garbage, no, that ain’t Motörhead’s style. These are headphones designed to deliver everything louder than everything else but with the sort of range, clarity and true rock reproduction you’d expect from a band of road warriors who have been at the top of the tree year after year.

As the road-warriors themselves say, "If it's too loud, you're too old."

Box Contains

Trigger in ear earphones
carring bag
small, medium and large ear buds

I know it's a cliché to say it, but I listen to loads of different types of music. However, the majority of it is rock, metal, or at the very least guitar-based, with the exception of a few electronic artists. That's why I was so keen on the idea of these headphones; so many consumer audio products - Beats headphones being the most obvious example - are sold on the idea of having tons of bass, I guess because most people understand what bass is and think that having loads of it is a good thing, but not so much with the rest of the frequency range. It's understandable - bass has a much more physical, visceral effect on us - but people therefore tend to think that 'good sound' = 'far too much bass at the expense of everything else'. Motorheadphones are sold on the idea that they have a particularly good mid-range, which is much neglected by most consumer-level headphones. That's important for rock music because it's in that range that the guitars generally sit. At last, headphones that are designed for people who want to hear punchy guitars and singing leads, rather than throbbing bass and wumping beats.

The celebrity-endorsed brand did initially make me sceptical as to whether they were really any good and not just a gimmick, but I waited eagerly for them to be released. Upon trying them out, they did deliver, and compare extremely well with other headphones in this price range. Previously I had used Sennheiser CX300's, a popular choice and often considered to be of a high calibre among the more affordable headphones. Compared to those, the Trigger/Overkill has less harshness in the treble - cymbals, for example, do not come crashing to the foreground as much - smoother bass, and most important of all, a rounder, more detailed mid-range.

I did want to love these earbuds. Serious rock n roll listener, I needed these guys. I ordered them full of expectations, and they deliver big time. Sound quality is not good, it's awesome! Then, why the one star? Easy, sound quality is outstanding, but their construction and durability is subpar, and that's being geneorous. My first pair lasted for one month, then the jack stopped working and sound started coming only through one of the earbuds. Unacceptable! I contacted motorheadphones directly and they very nicely replaced them free of charge, as they should. Well done! My second pair was awesome as well, and a month after receiving them... one of the earbuds has a false contact and the sound is intermittent. If I move my head on the wrong direction, one of the earbuds stop working. Now, two pairs, and two different mechanical issues on different parts of the headphones (jack and contact) that result in crap performance. I think the idea is cool and the sound quality is wonderful, but with this durability... over 40 pounds to waste. I also bought the large format headphones and the sound quality is even better, but performance has also cracking and intermittence issues, which suggests that internal building of those guys is poor as well. SInce I use those while sitting, I can control the issue, but still, for a hundred quid, I expect perfect performance, at least technically... Steer clear from these until they get them right!

I love these earphones. The shell casing looks great, and the sound produced is clear and bright. The cord is extra thick with a kind of fabric around it, so it won't tangle. Excellent

I used to love this headphones - nice tight sound reproduction and cool looks.
Unfortunately I have to echo other users - the build quality sucks.
I've had 2 pairs, both have developed some issue in the wiring and as a result the sound becomes scrambled and the audio is mangled.

Very disappointing.

The sound quality of these earphones is undeniably very good for the price, and they don't get distorted at higher volumes. They are also aesthetically pleasing and seem pretty durable. However, due to their weight, when walking around listening to music they tend to fall out quite easily. On top of this the earbuds themselves are attached quite loosely to the main earpiece, and so it dd not take me long to lose one.
All in all, good value for money, though not recommended for use on long walks.

These headphones would easily be 5 star if they actually worked. They sound great, look great and are very comfortable to wear. Unfortunately the build quality is unbelievablely poor and mine stopped working in left ear in less than a week.

I noticed that the volume in the left ear kept dropping out occasionally after the first few uses but it always seemed to fix itself after a couple of minutes so I just ignored it. Then after 5 days of use it just stopped working completely.

Its such a shame this has happened as I was thoroughly enjoying listening to my music on them, but with such a short lifespan they ended up just being a massive waste of money

I've had two pairs of these now and both eventually developed the same issue in that sound stopped coming out of the left earbud. I suspect this is due to the angled headphone connector meaning even if you try not to you are always pulling on the wire when wearing them so they will eventually lose contacts on the wiring inside meaning the sound drops out. Plus point is the sound is excellent if you use the right size rubber buds for your ears, just a shame about the recurring build quality issue that keeps rendering them useless..
