Review

Written by Steve Casper, Motocross is a great read for newcomers to the sport who need to know what's what and whatnot... this book is essential for every MX fan's coffee table.' --MX News

Product Description

Motocross is all about getting down and dirty and having fun doing it. In this photo-packed spin through the sport, readers can catch the thrill and at the same time learn all there is to know about motocross, from the basics to the finer points of the bikes, the riders, and the techniques of crashing without burning. Joe Bonnello captures the different sides of the sport - Motocross, Super cross, Enduro, Hare Scrambles, Trials, ISDE, Supermoto, and Endurocross - with breath stopping shots of the bikes in action. He sketches the history of motocross in words and pictures, profiles its heroes, surveys the magazines that provide in-depth coverage, and, finally, reviews the ten best ways of crashing.

World class photographer took excellent pictures. This was the perfect calendar for my husband's desk. 7 Feb 2009

Stunning photography, obvious insider putting this together - my husband is a loyal motocross fan and remarked immediately upon seeing the photographer's name. Well done.
Print versus DVD 7 Aug 2006

The photographers included in this book are the best in the business and some of the images are truly fantastic. I doubt many gen-x-ers will buy this book and appreciate the talent and effort that goes into capturing a still image when they can go out and buy a Travis Pastrana DVD with someone jumping off the grand canyon, but such is the age we live in. Not a knock, just a recognition of the difference between print and video, and who is likely to enjoy which.

For those who appreciate motocross as it was in the 70's and 80's and appreciate outdoor tracks more than supercross, I give this five stars. For X-games fans, I give it only three. Therefore, an overall four star rating.

For the price, you can hardly go wrong.
