The 4.5”, brilliantly sharp screen is what you’ll notice first. Then how easy it is to use with one hand because of how it’s curved. Every detail, inside and out, is designed to impress. And built to last. If you could see into the future, you’d know Moto G is the phone you’ll have for a good, long time.

Latest Android 4.4, Kitkat with Guaranteed Upgrade

Water-Resistant Coating and Corning Gorilla Glass

Water is your phone’s worst enemy. So for extra protection, Moto G has a unique water-resistant coating protecting your phone inside and out. Now, a little rain won’t stop you from taking a call. Moto G is made to last. The Corning Gorilla Glass gets you extra protection from everyday scratches and scrapes. So you can actually use your phone the way you want to without worrying about it.

All-Day Battery

You’re not always going to find an outlet or be able to stop and plug in somewhere. Moto G is smart when it comes to the battery, so as you go about your day, you won’t run out of power.

Personalise with Coloured Backs

Every day is different, and your Moto G can be too. It’s completely your call if you want to put on a different coloured back, or set up actions so you’re not bothered when you don’t want to be. Moto G gives you many ways to just be yourself. Moto G has a back you can switch out, just like that. Buy any back—or 10 or 20—that speaks to you. Some have grips. Some have prints. Some flip. All are fun. Then decide to match, or change things up for no reason at all, whenever the mood strikes.

Moto G has two cameras: one for what’s in front of you, and one that’s facing you. Touch anywhere on the screen to take a shot, or hold your finger on the screen to take multiple shots in a row. Then switch gears and record an HD video or capture a panoramic picture. Just swipe to see your gallery or zoom in on an image. Within three taps, quickly share your best photos with friends and family. For getting the shot and staying in touch, Moto G is all the camera you need.

I hope this review will be especially useful to anyone not familiar with smartphones and their apps.

I'm very impressed with this phone. I've spent a few days testing it against an iPhone, and have to say that the Motorola holds up very well indeed. Screen quality, sound, phone call clarity, battery capacity, network speed, smoothness of web page scrolling - the Motorola is not out classed.

One aspect that is slightly better on the iPhone is the quality of the camera for lower light levels. At low light levels, for example when indoors, the photos from the iPhone are slightly crisper, though the differences are slight and only really detectable when the photos are enlarged. In bright light and outdoors I found that the quality of the photos is evenly matched.

I like the camera interface on the Motorola, its intuitive and allows you to press the shutter by pressing anywhere on the screen - it makes it easier to hold the phone steady while using the movable focus box and pressing the shutter.

Of course, a phone isn't going to offer the same photographic quality that you can get with a proper camera, especially for zooming, low light and moving targets; but as a handy alternative, the Motorola copes adequately.

Here are some other things I like about the phone, as well as a few tips and suggestions:

● It's free from bloatware
It is to Motorola's credit that they haven't added lots unnecessary apps to this phone. The phone contains the key apps that you will probably need, but there is plenty of capacity for you to add additional apps should you wish.

My current android phone was nearly 2.5 years old and while it served me well it was struggling to cope with regular tasks and the battery life was posing a problem. If you're looking to replace a smartphone of 2 years or older; then look no further. This is a great phone, does all the regular tasks such as web browsing, listening to music, messaging really well. I've used this for a month now and can tell you the good and any limitations.

* Great battery life - With normal use, it lasts more than 24 hours - usually I have 30% left before recharging
* Superb screen 4.5" (LCD 720p -329ppi) - great for browsing, watching videos
* Expandable memory - No issues (I am now using a Sandisk 32GB Class 10 SD card)
* Great performance (Quad core speed with no noticeable lags) - everything works well (internet, maps, watching videos etc) - I haven't tried any 3d games, so cannot comment
* 4G speed
* Changeable back covers with built-in covers. I use the grip shell which give protection without adding bulk
* Good build quality - Motorola have always produced high quality phones and this one is no exception with Gorilla glass and great finish
* Incredible value - why spend £500 on a phone and this one does everything just fine
* Near Stock Android experience- Motorola didn't interfere with android and it looks similar to stock android with a few useful additions such as Assist (automatically silencing phone during meetings or at night)
* Quick Android updates - Motorola rolled out 4.4.

* Update: Moto G (4G Lte) gets Android 4.4.4 KitKat upgrade which fixes microSD card issue. (previously limited to class 6 cards). : Link also available in comments section.

The new 4G LTE version does not look any different from the 3G one yet it now supports a micro SD card, better water resistance and offers much faster data transfer over cellular (using 4G LTE).

As with previous versions the stylish looks and top notch quality do not reflect the low selling price. In fact it does feel and perform like a much more expensive phone.

The Moto G's ergonomic design, responsive touch screen and zippy performance make for a lovely handset which is a pleasure to use.

○ Fast 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Quad Core Processor
○ Lovely 4.5" 720p (329ppi) screen
○ Smooth scrolling and pinch to zoom
○ Robust construction, stylish, looks and feels premium
○ Water-Resistant nano Coating
○ Micro SD slot, up to 32 GB
○ Notification Led which I find so useful, as it indicates missed calls and messages. Also sports proximity and ambient light sensors
○ Connectivity: Low consumption Bluetooth 4.0, whilst does not compromise on range. Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
○ Applicative proprietary Motorola apps: Camera offering HDR, slow motion, panorama and flash; Motorola Assist, Migrate and Translate
○ Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which is very strong and virtually scratch proof
○ Very good call quality
○ 4G LTE offering a boost in data transfer over cellular (Backwards compatibility with 3G)
○ Price

Cons: (Nit picking)
- No NFC (Near Field Communication)
- No dualband Wi-Fi (5GHz not supported)

The Moto G (4G LTE) once again ups the standard for best value android smartphone.
Highly recommended to anyone seeking a solid performer offering a near stock android experience.
