5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Single Book on Small Unit Grunt Cohesion 16 July 2013
By F. J. West - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is simply the best single analysis of the variables that comprise unit cohesion in battle. No platoon sergeant, platoon commander or anyone senior in the ranks of the Army and Marine combat arms should neglect to read this book. Published 35 years ago, it draws upon decades of research and personal observations of grunts on the front lines. Written by a Canadian military analyst, every chapter includes careful scholarship and commonsense. No finer single book can be found on the subject of small unit motivation when blood is pouring out and you want to quit or pull back.

1.0 out of 5 stars Condition Not as Promised 18 May 2012
By Bodiccea - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Book was listed as Very Good in fact it's Fair. Dark pencil marks on front cover and lighter pencil marks on back cover. Top of cover torn. Top of back pages crumpled. Excessive amount of library stamps. Pencil underlining in book. Back of spine broken thus pages ready to fall out. Total misrepresentation of book condition.
