Despite the rather drab looking packaging, and not as immediately as enjoyable as Cast's debut album, 'Mother Nature Calls' is still well worth checking out.
This album reminds me a lot of Oasis' sound at the time (the final track, 'Dance With The Stars', is in many ways, Cast's very own 'Champagne Supernova'). 'Mother Nature Calls' is a mature and experimental record, John Power's lyrics are very emotional, intelligent, and the tracks are an even mix of typical upbeat Britpop, and more laid back songs. My favourite tracks are the beautiful single 'Live The Dream', with a strong country feel, the instantly likeable 'Guiding Star', and the mournful 'I'm So Lonely'. However, 'Soul Tied' and 'She Sun Shines' can easily be avoided.
'Mother Nature Calls' is an under-rated album, which is a shame. It isn't as well known as it should be, but has some brilliant moments. An excellent album to chill out too. Ignore any negative comments you might hear, and check it out.
