Most Haunted Rides Again,
By DV8 Diva (UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Most Haunted Live - Series 7 [DVD] (DVD)
Yvette,Karl,Kath,Stuart and the rest of the merry band of ghost hunters go off to Turin (Satan's City-no less!), London and a creepy Asylum in Wales to seek out the denizens of the Lower Regions and the lingering dead in the name of entertainment, if not Science. Much screaming ensues;Stuart gets attacked (again);lots of bleeped out naughty words;Yvette screams and there is a very amusing scene when she sees two eyes at a window-goes off on a hysterical jag and the 'eyes' turn out to be....watch it and see!I'm a big fan of 'Most Haunted'and this is another
enjoyable scream fest. These guys still rule! All together now...."Shut It Yvette"

Who the hell gave Brian Shepherd a job??,

First of all, for the money, this particular live series is worth every penny. Lots of hours of footage, if edited a little badly.
The live nights in Turin are excellent, spoiled only by the inclusion of 'Mumbling Brian Shepherd' as the Medium accompanying the team. To be honest, he is so hammy, mutters and mumbles, and is SO bad at communicating, they may as well have had me there, for all the use he is. All we get is Yvette saying, "Brian are you getting anything?" and Brian muttering darkly, "...a woman... a woman? yes.. a woman.. in black.. I think its a woman.... yes a woman", with Yvette prompting for further information, "any name?" and Brian saying simply, "No"... He is quite simply, dreadful, and the series highlights are when he isn't there. There are some genuinely spooky moments in the Turin tunnels, spoiled only by Stuart obviously chucking himself down some stone stairs and claiming that he had been pushed. I always watch Most Haunted with tongue in cheek. It's fun entertainment with the odd spooky moment, and some great, interesting locations. Most Haunted, in my opinion, really went downhill the moment David Wells (the medium) left the show. He - at least - imparted information in a believeable manner, rather than like Brian Shepherd - as if he's reading it off a card.

Huge fan of MH but wavering on this one...,

As good as Brian Shepherd is, I do miss David Wells' accuracy and humour. Some of the antics on this series (trying to summon up the Devil) do seem to be rather irresponsible, but I suppose ratings play a big part in what they decide to do. I do think MH has struggled a bit in the last few series, but this is still worth a watch... and a re-watch... and maybe another. I'm just addicted, I guess. I love to hear Ciaran say he can't explain some of the things they get - at the end of the day, those little gems are what the series is all about - stuff we just can't explain scientifically. 4 stars from me - a great show, but missing something at the moment.
