Most Haunted may have become Most Flaunted but in series 9 we get to see some truly extraordinary phenomena. Yvette Fielding is the face of Most Haunted while David Wells communicates with the spirit world. Resident Parasychologist Dr. Ciaran O'Keefe endeavors to make sense of any phenomena but for some reason Historian Richard Felix does not appear in this series.

At the Boys Hall the team are able to record some remarkable auditory phenomena. The team have pine cones thrown at them and Yvette is able to communicate with a spirit by tapping her feet but this episode will be remembered for the mysterious appearance of an old coin. When the team visit Alton Towers David experiences a first in his mediumship - an angry male spirit calls him a four letter word. During a late-night vigil Karl Beattie is either attacked by something unknown or accidently bangs his head. Either way, he is rendered unconsious until he is revived by a franticly searching team. In Dartford Library the team encounter the spirit of a female Librarian who is just as helpful in death as she was in life. A team member calls out the subject of a book and a book on that subject falls from a shelf. In a Library containing thousands of titles this is truly extraordinary phenomena.

Carol Thatcher joins the team in their investigation of Tatton Old Hall. They encounter the spirit of a man who was a drunk and wife-beater in life. Unsurprisingly, objects are thrown at the team. At Sutton House the team are joined by Lee Ryan and during a seance a table is lifted off the ground. Lee manages to get a mischevious spirit to throw his scarf at Yvette. At the Matlock Bath Pavilion the team hear some disembodied wheezes and groans. At the teams' request a light bulb is thrown at them.

Having watched all of the series of most haunted, I think this had to be one of my favourites, there were some excellent spooky locations, and I feel that parapsycologist Ciaran O'Keeffe brings added credability to the show. There is lots of phenomena that was new including lots of stone throwing in several locations, probably most of all in the lighthouse on the first episode. David Wells is also excellent and spot on with his knowledge of locations and previous ghostly inhabitants. I feel this series is excellent value for money as it includes 5 discs with all the most haunted extra shows for each location. Most Haunted - Series 9 - Complete [DVD]

anything 'most haunted' gets a winning review in my opinion, the locations investigated are interesting, and the team-particularly medium david wells, presenter yvette fielding and, of course, the spirits they encounter make most haunted one of the best entertaining and thought provoking shows currently in production, can't wait for series eleven on dvd, the live shows are also well worth purchasing, love it.

I was reluctant to be any of the series made after Derek Acorahs departure from the team and I feel my instinct was right . . . I'm really not keen on David Wells; he's always so vague and that sort of spoils it for me.
This is really picky but it's really annoying to not have the locations of the sleeve as well - as you can't pick and choose what you fancy watching. However I was pleasantly surprised as one of the locations (Sutton House) i visited last August.
Overall, it's an ok series but have to be in the mood to watch it.

We are slowly colleting the whole box sets. Having recently watched Series One right through to series 10 (we're on 10 at present) I can honestly say that the first 1 - 8 are the best. Richard Felix, David Wells, Derek Acorah and the gang are far more entertaining and watchable. David Wells is my favourite psychic as I believe he's the most accurate and Richard Felix is like a kid in a sweetshop, an excitable puppy and it's great to watch. He simply loves this stuff and I believe he's genuinely happy to be given access to this country's most beautiful locations. Something most of us can only dream about.

Then from series 9 the ridiculous object throwing begins - forgotten are the interesting and frankly more beliveable lights (orbs)from the first few series. I simply don't belive it's paranormal. I feel it's a member of the crew throwing things. On the many, many investigations I've been on, this phenomena has NEVER happened. Ok, whilst there is a small percentage of times when this has genuinely occured somewhere in the world - I just don't believe it happened on Most Haunted.

My other niggle about series 7 - 9 was the foul language mainly by Karl and Yvette. Yes - at times the emotions run high and it's scary but there are other words one can use other than **** me and ******* hell. The later series' bleep out the bad words - well most of them.
Other than that they are enjoyable but with some phenomena to be taken with a large pinch of salt.
