Overall, I like the Moshi PalmGuard, but I think based on its not-so-cheap-for-a-piece-of-plastic status, it could use some work. Application was fairly easy, however I found that the strip above the trackpad when installing it from the bottom up (as they suggest) got a bit of a buckle in it. I was able to adjust it carefully and get it to adhere, but it did come up one more time an hour later. Once this is in place, I'd suggest really pushing hard all around to ensure proper adhesion. Much easier to install than a screen protector though, that's for sure.
The trackpad protector works well, and allows all finger gestures, but I'd like it to be a smoother texture. It's not quite as silky smooth as the uncovered surface, and takes a little getting used to. The other problem I noticed, and honestly just wasn't prepared for due to the nature of the palmrest cover, was the presence of air bubbles. So word to the wise: imagine the trackpad cover is a screen protector and really try carefully to avoid trapping air. I'll give this a little more time, but the trackpad cover may have to come off soon. I'd rather have paid less for the palmrest cover and not had the trackpad cover bundled with it.
UPDATE: Within hours of posting this, of course the band running along the top of the trackpad is now perpetually buckling up and not adhering properly. The surface was prepared before application to get rid of any grease or dust, but this thing is just not adhering properly in that area, especially when the battery is charging and the surface becomes warm. I have contacted Moshi's customer service, so hopefully they address this problem soon.
UPDATE 2: This is a long overdue update, but Moshi got right back to me and sent out a new guard. The new one adhered PERFECTLY and has been on for over a year now. I don't even notice that it's there and I know it's done a good job of limiting wear and tear on the trackpad and palm rest area. Great product.

Pricey but well worth it (and i'm cheap!)

I recently bought a macbook pro for school and have been trying to find every way to protect it with 3rd party accessories (apple is too expensive). I saw this product and was very hesitant to drop $20 on what is essentially a sticker. However I did and it arrived in a giant box just so the aluminum wouldn't bend so.. necessary evil I spose. The packaging said I couldn't reapply the protective aluminum more than once so I was nervous about placement, but I was able to reapply it 4 times with no problems. Instantly I could tell this was a high quality product because: 1. the mold was EXACTLY for the mbp, very easy to line up and seat 2. once seated it feels like it was always there (no movement or sides come up).
*NOTE*
I did have 1 small problem, since I had a speck hard plastic shell on my mbp, I took it off and put on this product and 1 side got caught on the tiny clip of the hard case. I tried stuffing the protective strip under the tiny clip but both products were designed to form exactly to the mbp, no extra room. I eventually cut a 1 or 2mm thick sliver on the side of the sticker to make it fit which I can't notice and will not effect its quality over time.
Other than that small snippet, its awesome, provides more friction and provides total piece of mind knowing I'm not going to wear down the sides of the palm rests over time!
Would definitely buy again!

PalmGuard is great, track pad protector not so good

I really like the PalmGuard, it actually provides a bit more friction and so it prevents the base of your palms from slipping around on the almost too-smooth palm rest of the MacBook Pro. It also seems like it has a bit of padding in it, even though it is paper-thin. Not sure how that could be possible, but oh well. I'm still looking for something that can dull the sharp edges of the palm rest itself, it cuts into my wrists.
The track pad protector leaves a lot to be desired. It adds a nice bit of friction which actually improves tracking. However, if you use double-tap to do stuff, you'll have problems because you have to tap very hard. This was a show-stopper for me, so I pulled it off. For those who don't use double-tap I think it would work out pretty good, although two finder scrolling is also a bit non-responsive.
