I have travelled to Moscow several times and bought this book for my nervous parents who are soon coming along with me for the first time. What I like about this book is that it preps you for what to expect in Moscow without having to do extensive research. The pictures are really helpful, and I found the portrayals to be very accurate (pre-Kosovo). However, I did buy the book with the thought that I will be able to help my folks along. If you have a guide or host to help you with your trip, than this book is ideal.

Only when the book arrived from Amazon did it become clear that it was for the American / Canadian markets. Even the book price was in dollars. Hotel prices are in dollars and travel information from the UK appears limited. All in all not much use. Is there a UK version of the Moscow Guide and why has Amazon UK not made it clear to customers that the book is for the American / Canadian markets?

It was difficult getting this guide on the High Street and I was so happy to find a copy on Amazon. This was not the most recent version and I'm not sure there is a more current version out there but the guide is good, very good, as it not only gives you the best touristy bits but also some unusual and places of interest. Read it beore you leave as you will find there are so many things crammed into the covers of this guide and it will help you plan. The restaurant and food section needs up dating as it was difficult to find real authentic russian food in the New Moscow. Enjoyed my guide and the price was great compared to anywhere else.

A Helpful Guide to One of The World's Best Cities
This is a Brilliant Book and I would recommend it to anyone who is thinking of going to moscow or the surrounding area. Dorling Kindersley are still the best for travel guides!

The best Travel Guide Series on the market
Incredibly helpful - the best Moscow travel guide available. My advise to anyone who wants to go to Moscow: go in the Spring and take this book with you.
