Let's get one thing straight, this guide is not a guide, it's an artbook and not a very good one at that. Among the myriad problems it has, includes the literally thousands of tiny screen shots it uses to try and show how to do combos, which are in reality entirely useless, the highly subjective opinions on character balance, the complete lack of any useful information on what special attacks actually do and when to employ them, the fact that it doesn't mention babilities at all and the fact that no damage or framedata is included because it 'would go out of date after patches' and yet they saw fit to put in a tier list which will somehow... not?

Avoid like the plague.

This is the worst strategy guide I have ever seen. The new Mortal kombat is such a great game it deserves so much better. I don't even know where to start - this guide gives you nothing at all.
The fatality cards are half wrong and don't even include half of the finishing moves...there isn't even a mention of a babality in the book at all.
Lots of moves are wrong. It is rubbish for PS2 and 360 as it uses a stupid and unintuitive number system for the buttons to try and make it universal - totally failing to make it user friendly at all.
There are hardly any combos in here at all...literally about 3 that are not displayed in the games moves list for each chracater.
It contradicts itself throughout.

Even the pictures are mostly hard to follow for combos. The Challengoe Tower is barely covered and includes lines like..."fight Goro with the strategies mentioned earlier...."...err where?

It does not even tell you how to fight the Secret characters or anything about Trophies/Acheivements. Not one online tip and worst of all....

THERE IS NO STRATEGY IN THE BOOK. Not one comment about how to play against certain chracters and very little about strengths of each character.

Not sure what on earth this book is selling. I printed a simple moves guide from the web which is 10 x better.

Avoid - total waste of money.

Full of typos - after looking up the fifth fighter it gets very, very annoying.

Honestly, having 'read' twenty minutes in, I already caught myself searching and finding what I wanted to find on the internet.

NO BABALITIES!

Have to say, in relation to the 'flyer' of a manual shipped with the actual game the guide is quite an addition. Character studies, basic moves and an explanation of what is what in the game - it's all there!

Though it's much more convenient to practice your favorite moves with a list in front of you instead of pausing and switching pages over and over again (different pages for basic and special moves, cursor position will always be at the very start of the in-game move list) I'd rather look at my laptop, which is always there and always on :)

Like I said, don't bother. Better yet, look up your favorite gaming site and get the necessary info and tips there.

WHOOOPSIE!!
