The removable plates are a really good idea and make cleaning a breeze, but after a while, the non-stick coating on mine failed and, no matter how carefully I greased them, the bread stuck like glue to the plates- disaster. So, great when new, life expectancy = minimal!

This grill worked fine for a little while, but after a few weeks the non-stick coating came off and stuck to my sandwiches. When it was new, it worked pretty much as advertised. No timer or temp control, just a light to let you know it's warmed up.

purchased this item mainly as a toaster which was just as well, as the griller does not shut properly or lock shut when you have meat in it that is thicker than a slice of bread. for small meats it cooks well, the plates are easily changed but the the non stick coating appears to be thin.
