Product Description

Whether curly, crinkled, skinny or wide, chips are a food icon of British culture that few of us would be without - and they're a great source of energy too. The Morphy Richards 45078 Professional Fryer comes with a range of features to make cooking food quick and easy, and make cleaning up afterwards a breeze.

The variable thermostat (150-190°c) means that you can cook your food just the way you like it, while the cool-touch handles and non-slip feet help avoid accidents. The tank and lid are dishwasher safe and even the controls can be removed for easy cleaning. The cord storage keeps the fryer tidy on your counter or in your cupboard.

This is very sleek looking it sits perfectly on the counter top, so very easy to put together, and take apart for cleaning, nice uncomplicated dials, a few cooking guidelines in the instruction booklet - but most cooking is done by eye. I would say, i have a couple cripes, the handle for the basket folds back into itself for tidy storage when not in use, however, the handle ends up in the oil - so you must make sure your oil is cold before tidy storing, as a result of the handle being a third submerged in the oil, it does make the handle a bit slippery - nothing a bit of kitchen roll can sort out. Also, when you hook the basket over the edge to drain your food, oil drips down the front of the fryer - again a folded piece of kitchen paper as a "doily" sorts that out. any oil spills or splashes on the exterior of the fryer wipe off nicely and unmarked with warm soapy water. Perfect for 2, good for 3, not really suitable for 4+ portions.

Fryer is OK but I wish I had bought a stainless steel one as the matt black surface shows every mark.

superb value for money, a good size but not what id call family sized if you plan on doing chips for everyone at the same time etc great for scampi and scotch eggs or meals for two/three people.heats up instantly and looks fab, so good to find something other than silver or white.
    great buy for the money

I just bought this deep fat fryer at ALLDERS, as they are closing down July 2012, I didnt go wrong for £29,as I was thinking of buying one similar from Argos or Comet, but for a couple of pounds more, I was better off with this profesional fryer.
Chips comes crispy, but you do have to keep on eye on them, unless you like them brown and toasty or burn.
If you fry anthing in breadcrumbs you must be very carefull, as it will deteriorate the cooking oil very quickly, as it will burn and smell and fumes will start to come out.
Sometimes I fry fresh fish in flour, but usually I will do this when I know I have to change the oil, as you have to keep in mind the cooking oil will deteriorate quicker frying fish than if you only use it for chips.
The only inconvenient is when you have to clean up the oil, get some tissue rolls for the kitchen counter, and empty plastic water bottle or another old container to get rid of the oil.(A bit of common sense!)
I dont have kids, so I used it once a week, so the oil I change it every 4 months.
At the moment I cant complain, for the price I paid, you cant go wrong.
I repeat for less £30, compare to other deep fat fryer in the market you wont missed it.
Hope my review has help you, Good luck.

Only used for fries which were fine, badly designed appliance, lid does not fit when in use and the handle lies in the oil when not. You get what you pay for.
