A Fantastic Toaster,
By
This review is from: Morphy Richards 2 Perfection 2Slice Toaster 44931 Black (Kitchen & Home)
This is a fantastic toaster. It is really fast. So fast that it browns your toast without making it hard. Not only is it fun to use, but it produces toast over a minute faster than our previous machine. So, if you like toast for breakfast, then this device will shave at least a minute off your early morning routine. Over the course of a year you will gain an extra 6 hours in bed!

Underneath the glossy casing lies a fairly ordinary toaster,

If you ever took a cheap toaster apart, then you'll know how they are engineered down to a price.
Well, having dared to use a piece of bread a shade too large, it caught on the partly open doors and jammed the mechanism solid. So I took it apart, and the mechanism is pretty flimsy, just like a naff toaster with a motor added. Also the slot for the crumbs to get to the crumb tray is too narrow, with the result that you'll always have large stale lumps of bread gathering and burning away inside. However, the flimsy mechanism lent itself to having the distorted parts bent back into shape, and it's working fine again now. If I'm honest, I took it apart instead of sending it straight back to Amazon because I rather like it. It does make good toast (and fast) if you take a little care over the size of the bread, and the way it smoothly lowers and raises the bread is so much nicer than the crash of a spring-driven eject. I see it's now £10 cheaper than when I bought it, so I'd have to say buy one, but be careful not to use oversize bread ! Shame the matching kettle started to leak after 11 months of use.

Great toaster,

Have had this for about 2 weeks and also the matching kettle. It is a great looking toaster. It has a silver cover that closes over when not in use so keeps it clean. The best bit about this toaster is when you put your toast/muffins etc in you press the button and it takes the toast down and closes and toasts it. When ready it then brings the toast back up. This is great for muffins as you haven't got to try and get them out and burn fingers. If you are looking for something abit different then this is a great toaster.
