Ok, so i read a bit about this before I bought one and was a little worried as it has mixed reviews.

I previously owned a kenwood smoothie maker with all the bells and whistles but after spending a small fortune on replacing the seals I decided to get something a bit different when the casing for the blades cracked and ruined the motor and I'm glad I did! If you like making cocktails and smoothies then this is the device for you. It reminds me of the ones used in bars.
It is pretty noisey but seriously I wouldn't really expect it to be quiet the way it demolishes Ice and turns it to powder in a few seconds! Makes fantastic cocktails, smoothies and milkshakes.

So if you want a fantastic coctail maker then buy it. If you want a nice quiet smoothie maker then go for something else.
