I went through a period a number of years ago of trying various kettles from different companies and found them all failing after less than a year of use. These were not cheap kettles but ones from Breville, Rowenta and Tefal. I finally tried this kettle from Morphy Richards and have had no trouble with it. It has just failed after over three years of heavy use and I can honestly say it is the best kettle I have ever owned. Needless to say I have bought another one.

Kettle 16 April 2009
Pleased with this kettle, quick boiler, good capacity, easy to clean. Rather heavy, could be difficult for persons with weak wrist. Filter is easy to remove and clean.

The kettle works well and, being 3kw, it boils quickly too. It is less tall than many kettles and so is easier to fit under low kitchen taps for filling. I have two gripes with it, however. Firstly, after a week's use, the boiled water still smells of plastic. I know that this is normal for new kettles, but it usually goes after a couple of boils, but this hasn't. Secondly, the level indicator is behind the handle and difficult to see and, worse, it doesn't show the level for much less than a litre so it is difficult to boil smaller amounts of water, thus wasting energy. So, in summary, it does what it says on the box, but it's not the best kettle I've had.

Designed by an idiot
Obviously designed by an idiot: the level indicator is obscured by the handle when it's on the charger, and by your hand when you pick it up.

Great kettle
It is unfair to judge a kettle noisy when you boil water with it. It is normal to generate noise during the process of boiling, so some of the negative comments I read prior to my... Read more

Kettle
This looks nice but is noisy and the metal around the kettle is extremely hot, I have burnt myself a few times by accidentally touching it! Works well otherwise.

Good with a couple of bad points!
This kettle is quick to boil and you can boil a very small amount of water. It looks nice and I like the red illumation showing you how much water you have in, however this only... Read more

noisy
This is quite nice looking and doesn't drip, but noisy for a fast boil kettle. Yes the level indicator is hard to see, but it makes the kettle nicer to look at.
