i have always used an electrical under blanket and wanted to purchase one that was washable as my new puppy has taken to having accidents on my bed (grrrr).
I bought this in April 2013 - I chose a large enough size, because i do not like cold spots when i stretch my legs -aren't toes often the coldest?! - and this fit the bill quite well.
it is not as warm as my old one (it had 12 dual settings at the same price, but was not washable) but the temperature variety has been sufficient, it doesn't get too warm and I'm overall very satisfied with it. The connecting points of cable and blanket are a little bit bulky but this doesn't bother me too much as a)i have a cover under blanket over it anyway and b)the size of the underblanket in proportion to my bed means that the two joints are at the very edge of the mattress and i only very rarely feel them.
In June 2013 one of the control broke: specifically the little handle that moves up and down to control temperature (my vocabulary is very rich!) broke off. I contacted Morphy Richards who answered immediately and told me my 3 yr warranty was with Amazon as i had purchased via them and then gave me Amazon customer service phone number. I then contacted Amazon - even though I had never bothered to register my product, Amazon went through my online receipts, and arranged next-day re-delivery of a new underblanket; they suggested i use the packaging from the new one to pack up the old one and send it back with a pre-paid label. The only hassle is a i have to take it to a drop off location in my neighbourhood within 30 days. Other than that the whole phone-call, including waiting time, lasted exactly 5min. I was worried it might all be rather tiresome but customer service on both ends was extremely polite and efficient, and thus, despite the minor fault, i am awarding 4* and would not hesitate to buy a product from murphy richards or amazon again.
