I already own a Breville 3.5 litre slow cooker which I find invaluable, but it is only big enough when cooking for up to 4 people and as I regularly cook for a crowd I need a bigger one as well as the one I have.
I saw this one on Amazon at a great price, and as I trust the Morphy Richards brand, I decided to buy it. The product looks lovely and sturdy, and certainly would fit the bill in terms of size, but I love to roast joints of meat in mine, seasoned and placed on an upturned saucer, as well as cooking soups, stews and potroasts. I find the slow cooking method fantastic for tenderising even the toughest joint of meat, and joints even browned slightly too! After reading the instructions though, I discovered that any meat, including joints, had to be fully immersed in water or stock during cooking - in other words, potroasted. How disappointing! Definitely not the one for me! I sent it back and bought a larger sized Breville slow cooker, with which I am delighted, and can now cook a lovely roast, (amongst a host of other dishes), for 6-8 people to perfection!
