Key features include a 12-hour delay timer, letting you wake up to the smell of fresh bread every morning, and a 70-minute fast bake option for when you need bread in a hurry, perfect for unexpected visitors. There is also an auto keep-warm function, so you can enjoy fresh bread covered with melting butter, even if you get delayed.

The fruit-and-nut dispenser automatically adds additional ingredients at just the right point during the cooking process, meaning you don't have to worry about timing. The viewing window and light mean you can check on the dough at any stage without opening the lid.

Ergonomically designed, the cool-touch LCD display is simple to use and keep clean and the cord-storage device keeps your work surfaces tidy.

This is an excellent product.

As a first time venture into home bread making machines not only does this meet but exceed expectations. Like all devices it is necessary to read both the operating and bread recipe instructions carefully.

The machine works just as it promises, though some experimentaion to adjust things like sugar/salt content in recipes has been necessary - that, though, is down to individual tastes. I have tried do-it-yourself recipes and ready prepared bread mixes. All have been perfectly acceptable.

When considering buying a bread making machine I looked at several options and was almost set to buy one of the cheaper machines. However, at the Amazon Price, it meant I bought a more advanced model with a wide range of options for less than £20 more than the price of a basic breadmaker machine.

Some friends told me recently that they have had a breadmaker machine for a few years but can't be bothered because the kneading paddle leaves a hole in the bread. Okay, maybe it isn't aesthetically pleasing - not that I have found it displeasing - but I wonder how important that is when trying to find bread to buy during last weeks disruption to bread supplies due to adverse weather conditions. As far as I am concerned a small hole at the underside of the loaf is a small price to pay for fresh, healthy bread, and I choose what type of loaf.

I highly recommend this product.

Having read reviews of breadmakers which tended to emphasize any problems they were having I was a little nervous.
However this unit has been superb. Being male and 68 I wondered how successful I might be believing that women inherited special genes for that sort of thing. The results have been superb.
There is no skill involved the machine looks after itself. The instructions are quite clear and simple.
The bread tastes so much better than supermarket bread that I shall not buy bread there again. Also the cost saving will pay for the machine within a year.
yours faithfully david a jamieson.

Got one of these through a clearance offer on the high street and am very pleased with it. It makes great bread and the instruction book is clear on what ingredients have what effect on the bread that is made - this makes it easy to tell if you've gone too far when adjusting the suggested recipes (which are varied and tasty).

I use this just about daily now, and enjoy coming downstairs each morning to freshly baked bread. The Fruit and Nut dispenser I thought was a gimmick, but is actually really useful for making seeded and fruit loaves (the raisin bread is a BIG hit in my house!). The only thing that is a bit of a gimmick is the removable mixing paddle. Over time this wears a bit loose on the drive shaft - the mix gets in and then it cooks into place so that it won't come out with the loaf as intended. Oiling it worked for a while but that's no longer effective after about 4 month's daily use. However, the hole in the bread with the paddle stuck in the pan is about the same size as when it is removed by hand, so I can't really see any advantage in the removable paddle anyway.

I find the 1.5lb loaf is best as the bread comes out with slices about the same size as a shop sandwich loaf. The pan is the same size so 1lb loaves are shorter, and 2lb loaves are taller. With my family of 3, this lasts about 36 hours which is about right before the loaf starts to get stale.

The only reason I have given 4 stars is due to the first one of these I had failing after about 10 loaves (the heating element packed up).

I purchased this at a special offer price for my other half who had had a hankering for a breadmaker for some time. I actually thought it might have been a one day wonder, but no, its actually been used nearly every day since it arrived. I would probably feel quite lost without the reassuring bleeps in makes in the kitchen now. I would say, fiddle with the recipes, he's got it down to no extra salt and no extra sugar (ready yeast contains some dried milk which again contains natural sugars). If you are of a sweet toothed nature, you'll probably want the sugar left in, but it can be radically reduced by stages to get to the right level for you and to form part of a healthy diet. Again, if you like very savoury bread, leave the salt in, but we found most of the recipes too salty (like much supermarket bread). This is a great way to get Artisan type bread to your table each day, without any real fuss or faffing about. The electronic display was not obvious to work with at the start, not intuitive anyway. As one other reviewer has mentioned, you need to hold down a while to clear or change settings - no mention in the book, we thought it wasn't working and phoned the makers for advice. Its good to be able to set it up with all the ingredients, then go out, setting it to come on later and return to freshly baked bread. It makes excellant ciabatta too. My only concern is that the thing may wear out before we've had it for a year at the rate we use it.
