Product Description

Morphy Richards 43970 Tea maker

There's nothing quite like a cup of tea brewed to your exact taste, whether to kick start your morning, as a break during the day or relax or to unwind in the evening.

The Morphy Richards Tea Maker offers you a sleek, modern and stylish design; the compact unit with unique pump technology ensures making the perfect cup of tea every time has never been easier.
Morphy Richards Teamaker
Unique Pump Technology

The unique tea-steeping technology, combined with the variable strength and temperature selector, means all varieties of teas and tastes can be catered for.

The water within the glass jugs is filtered up through a pump in the handle where it is then released within the tea basket, allowing the leaves to infuse. This action is repeated a number of times, depending on the strength that has been selected.
Adjustable Strength

Different types of tea require different steeping times from 30 seconds to 10 minutes. The pump will filter water through the leaves until the desired strength is reached, to ensure the optimum steeping time is met and you have the perfect cup of tea.

Temperature Control

To bring out the best qualities of each of the wide variety of teas available, the correct brewing temperature needs to be used; for example, green or white teas are best brewed at lower temperatures, between 65 and 85°C while black teas should be brewed at higher temperatures around 100°C. The temperature of water ensures the best cup of tea, bringing out tannins from the leaves to give a complex and full flavour.

The Morphy Richards Tea Maker makes getting the temperature right easy--simply select your desired temperature and the Tea Maker does the hard work!
Keep Warm

The Duren Schott glass jug, along with the thermostatic hotplate, ensures your brew stays warm for up to 20 minutes--the perfect amount of time for a tea break.
Morphy Richards Teamaker
Removable Filter

The removable filter means easy cleaning and no need to purchase expensive replacements, so you can get the most out of your Tea Maker with minimum effort and expense.

i bought this with trepidation of it not being very useful or it not doing the trick, a turkish friend of mine made lovely green tea on a stove top turkish teapot i could never match it for flavour and couldnt use a similar pot as i have an electric hob and the bases were too small, this does the job extremely well and i can already tell it will never be consighned to the cupboard. for green teas it just takes away that bitter taste i always get because the water has scolded it .its so easy to fill through its wide neck and the water can be set at 8 different strengths and 3 different temperatures. it heat quickly like a kettle and when it has reached its set temp it then pumps the water over the leaves circulating for a few minutes depending on what strength tea you require. if the water temperature has dropped during this process it then reheats gently to the setting. the tea is then kept warm for 20 minutes or until you pour it, i thought this might be a problem but if you make a large pot of tea and come back to it some time later i just set it to 85 degress press on and it quickly reheats. i love this item so much im tempted to get another just for when this one breaks. i also think you probably could use this for coffee as well as it has the 85 degree setting but i wonder if it would flavour the teas later . if i was able to buy a secong inner filter i might try it , buy one now you wont regret it ,

A good replacement for our previous teamaker. Quick and easy to use.I like being able to select both the strength and the temperature to your own liking. Main disadvantage is that once one cup of tea has been poured the machine turns off, so a little inconvenient if your partner wants tea at a different time. Cleaning may over time be an issue since the jug can't be immersed in water making a thorough clean tricky.

I've now had this machine for seven months and I could not live without it. I'm a bit of a tea fanatic, especially Rington's loose leaf tea. The machine is so simple to operate and after adding water and tea just switch to desired temperature and strength and click "on". Come back in a few minutes to a perfect brew. I only ever need to reset my temp/strength choices if the machine is switched off at the mains, they stay set until then. I prefer to make my tea one mug at a time so it is always fresh and during the day this simply means adding another mug of cold water to the jug, add a few more tea leaves (I use full measure for first mug) and click on again. Perfect tea at minimal cost as the original tea leaves have not been "stewed" as per the normal method, the boiling water just pours over them. (I learned this when working in the Far East.) After three mugs I empty the inner basket of leaves and start again.
For cleaning I simply rinse it out at the end of the day then about once a fortnight soak it with a bit of Milton solution as Morphy Richards advise to remove stains from inside. I have not descaled it yet as I live in a soft water area, but again, the instructions for that are very straightforward.
So, it's simple, quick, makes a high quality brew at very economical cost, is very easy to maintain, and if ever I broke it I'd order another one within the hour.
    Very Highly recommended.
