Product Description

Synopsis

A lot can change in three months: wars can be decided, nations can be forged...or entire species can be brought to the brink of annihilation. The Morningstar Virus, an incredibly virulent disease, has swept the face of the planet, infecting billions. Its hosts rampage, attacking anything that remains uninfected. Even death can't stop the virus-its victims as cannibalistic shamblers. Scattered across the world, embattled groups have persevered. For some, surviving is the pinnacle of achievement. Others hoard goods and weapons. And still others leverage power over the remnants of humanity in the form of a mysterious cure for Morningstar. Francis Sherman and Anna Demilio want only a vaccine, but to find it, they must cross a countryside in ruins, dodging not only the infected, but also the lawless living. The bulk of the storm has passed over the world, leaving echoing thunder and softly drifting ashes. But for the survivors, the peril remains, and the search for a cure is just beginning...

5.0 out of 5 stars More of the same please, 26 Jan 2009

Again great zombie book. dont bother reading if you havent read the first part as you will be missing a lot of the story. Zombie fans will appreciate this, more realistic than most, in the sense its a virus that creates the zombie plague. I enjoyed this as much as the first, not deep at all, basic plot also. But if you read zombie books for plot and story you must be mad..

Z is the king of zombie reads as far as im consurned none of that smart or magic zombie rubbish. it has the clasic slow zombies that get you scared and the sprinters that just make you wish there was more of you with guns. he has come up with a great set of books with the saga and i cant wait for the 3rd book!!

if you like zombie reads and are sick of the rubbish you keep finding pick up the morningstar strain!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, 21 Aug 2008
This book deserves much more than 1 star, yes it was not as good as the first but it was still a great read although I have to agree the first book was like the movie and this felt like the opening of the TV Series with much of the storyline being concentrated on long episodes of a single scenario.

I feel the book could have been longe but this is maybe because I couldnt put it down. Can't wait for the third book. Bottom line this is by far one of the better Zombie books not far off World War Z.
