From Amazon.co.uk

Morning Glory showcases the comedic (and romantic) talents of two cute couples of different ages--Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton (never sparklier) and the adorable Rachel McAdams and Patrick Wilson. Love can bloom, no matter what time of life, or, as the setting of Morning Glory underscores, no matter what time of day. McAdams is excellent and darling as an ambitious TV producer who vows to turn around a sinking morning TV news show by bringing in a heavyweight anchor (Ford) to pair with the lighthearted, deft Keaton. But Ford wants none of the "news lite" that morning shows need to surface, so sparks fly between the bickering co-anchors almost immediately. Happily, Ford is easier in his skin in Morning Glory than he has been in some of his past romantic efforts (Six Days Seven Nights), so he and Keaton play off each other easily and believably. In a parallel story, McAdams's Becky is pursued by Wilson's Adam, which takes Ms. Focused Career Girl (if not the viewer) by surprise. The direction by Roger Michell (Notting Hill) is crisp, although the script by Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada) isn't particularly funny. (Adam thinks Ford's character, Pomeroy, is the "third worst person in the world," after Kim Jong Il and… Angela Lansbury.) But the world of TV news portrayed in Morning Glory is as immersive as it is in Broadcast News, and the romantic subplots truly are romantic. There's love in the air--and on the air--in Morning Glory. --A.T. Hurley

Product Description

Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford, Diane Keaton and Jeff Goldblum star in this comedy set in the world of television production, penned by 'The Devil Wears Prada' screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna. Becky Fuller (McAdams) is a sparky, ambitious young television producer who spies an opportunity to claw her way up the career ladder when she is offered a job on 'Daybreak', the worst-performing morning chat show in the ratings. Her decision to hire veteran newscaster Mike Pomeroy (Ford) to host the show meets with scepticism from network executive Jerry (Goldblum) and co-host Colleen Peck (Keaton), and with little enthusiasm from Pomeroy himself, who is obliged by his contract to take this less-than-promising gig. Can Becky overcome the poor ratings and in-fighting to bring the team together and transform the show into something to be proud of?

5.0 out of 5 stars Jimmy Carter Sex Offender 20 Feb 2011
By L. Davidson VINE™ VOICE
Format:DVD
"Morning Glory" was an entertaining ,funny film with an excellent cast who all had a great chemistry with one another. Rachel McAdams played the leading role as the executive producer of "Daybreak", a struggling morning tv programme which she is hired to overhaul and to boost its ratings. She hires Harrison Ford who plays a dour, serious news reporter who is reluctant to take on a more chatty, trivial minded persona in his new co-anchor role on the show. Can he help increase the show's ratings along with a host of new gimmicky ideas that McAdams kooky, energetic , workaholic producer brings to the show ? The film is warm and amusing and for once a career obsessed young woman in a movie is actually likeable. I found the scenes with poor Ernie the weatherman to be particularly funny.

Very funny and feel-good film. Great actors with good chemistry, especially Rachel McAdams, even though the love story is not the main story line. Highly recommendable for a lazy afternoon.

Just seen Morning Glory on Sky HD and really enjoyed this.
I gave it a 7 out of 10.
Much better than another one I saw called Anchorman which I could not really get into.

5.0 out of 5 stars DVD review 12 Dec 2011
By Mr. S. C. Warburton VINE™ VOICE

This is a halarious film where a new kid on the block (Rachel Adams) is trying to make it in the breakfast TV world. She has already been given the push from one network because her ideas are too radical. She then manages to land another breakfast TV job and works with an old hand (Diane Keaton). But still the ratings drop and her new job is on the line. She has this brainwave to call in a grumpy old TV hand (Harrison Ford) to boost the show and her survival.
Talk about a prima donna -he does not want to play ball with this young kid -and he and Keaton just do not get along -too much past history!
Sounds like a recipe for the EXIT door? This film is hilarious and the interplay between these three actors + Mr Goldbloome from time to time is excellent! You will enjoy it!

This was an enjoyable and amusing film with an excellent cast and a decent storyline. Unlike many romatic comedy's that are made it wasn't a candy floss I will never want to see this again movie. Rachel McAdams was delightful, while Harrison Ford & Diane Keaton gave memorable performances.

3.0 out of 5 stars A good way to start the day 14 Mar 2011
By J. Morris TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Blu-ray
This is the tale of television producer Becky Fuller (Rachel McAdams - The Time Traveller's Wife) who lands the Executive Producer job at the rather dubiously named IBS network's morning show Daybreak. The show is renowned as a stinker and nobody wants the job, but workaholic Becky vows to turn the aptly named Daybreak around, bringing in veteran reporter Mike Pommeroy (Harrison Ford) with stacks of accolades to his name, Pommeroy resents being legally obliged to work on Daybreak and refuses to participate in any of the light-hearted stories. With the ratings in the toilet and an imminent cancellation approaching, will Becky manage to save the show?

Daybreak is a light-hearted newsroom tale. The cast provide very believable roles, especially Harrison Ford who plays the straight-laced, cantankerous veteran anchor who seemingly lacks a sense of humour, it's a great role for him but he doesn't really steal the show, it's no return-to-form. Diane Keaton is also notable for her rendition of Ford's co-anchor, with the acrimonious relationship between the two providing a lot of humour. McAdams plays a young-upstart producer who is likeable but a workaholic; she has a tenuous relationship with Patrick Wilson's character, but the relationship is two-dimensional and is only there to detract from the obvious tension between Ford's and McAdam's characters. Jeff Goldblum is also worth a mention for his small part as the head of the network IBS.

The direction is impeccable, credit to Roger Michell; having a decent enough pace to keep you interested and some really great shots of the studio and producing rooms throughout the film.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good character movie 20 Mar 2013
By Chris Morse VINE™ VOICE
Format:DVD
I got this in a Blu-Ray deal. I knew nothing about it but as Harrison Ford usually delivers thought I'd go for it.
It pleasantly surprised me. Rachel McAdams character as a workaholic worked very well. It's nicely fleshed out enough to not be a 2D person, but you feel for what she's trying to achieve though you don't really pick up on why she has this driving force in her.
Ford is superb, you want to just grab him and give him a shake to wake up to what his personality is doing to all around him.
Nice to see Jeff Goldblum again as well as her boss, hoping she makes a success but up against a corporation that has other ideas.
The boyfriend bit is the most disjointed and ineffectual, but it does add a nice diversion from the TV show and helps you feel her frustration.
Diane Keaton also shines in this, again with a nicely fleshed out character that has more than 1 side.
It was also nice to have some genuinely laugh out loud comedy. Me and my son were in tears at the exploits of the weather man.
A very nice surprise of a film.
