Some day while you're sitting peaceably at home, two well-dressed, well-groomed, exceedingly polite young men will show up on your doorstep. If allowed, these missionaries will give you a message about God's extraordinary love, sin, repentance, and salvation. And they will also hand you a copy of one of the world's strangest books.

The Book of Mormon, written by Joseph Smith, purports to be a revelation from God on par with the Holy Bible. It is a narrative about a group of Jews who flee Jerusalem and found several large civilizations in the Americas. Most people who try reading it need only a few pages to see that it's a farce. A handful of intelligent, honest, ethical, well-read people instead find it to be so beautiful and moving that it can only be divinely inspired wisdom. Why the difference in opinion? Well, the best way to answer that is to read it for yourself.

The Book of Mormon begins with a Jewish man, Levi, fleeing the wrath of King Zedekiah in 600 B.C. Taking his family, they first camp by a river on the east shore of the Red Sea. After spending a time living richly by hunting and gathering fruit in that area, they travel to an uninhabited harbor called Bountiful on the south shore of Arabia. (At this point you may be asking questions such as: How could they flee Zedekiah in 600 B.C. when he didn't become king until years later? Why did they find that river when any map will confirm that there is no such river in that location? How did they hunt and gather in that region when it's a barren wilderness? And where did they find an empty harbor when the southern shore of Arabia was densely inhabited at that time in history? If you ask irritating questions like that, Mormonism probably isn't the religion for you.

The Book of Mormon is a volume of holy scripture comparable to the Bible. It really is a record of God's dealings with the ancient inhabitants of the Americas and contains, as does the Bible, the fulness of the everlasting gospel. I have read the Book on several occasions now. I have found it to be a truly life changing book and has brought me a greater insight into spiritual things. I think the key is to read it with s sincere heart, and then, wait and see how it makes you feel. Highly recommended

The literal word of God, recorded by the people of Ancient America and translated by Joseph Smith through the power and gift of God, is one of the greatest books ever printed. Contained within it's pages are the words that change lives, stir men to greatness and enlighten the human soul. If anyone needs direction in their life, if anyone needs comfort, if anyone needs to know why, this book will tell them. It will lead you back to the presence of the Living God and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. It is more than a book. It is God speaking to man. How can we ignore the voice of God? I implore all to read the pages, and come to the know of the truth of the word's therein, and join themselves to the Church Joseph Smith restored, the only true and living Church on the earth today, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. It is true. God lives. Jesus Christ died for us. This book tells us the way back to Him. Let us not turn our back upon Him.

This is a unique book; it is a true account of the inhabitants of the Americas before the Europeans settled there. The book details the original source of the inhabitants. It is written in a scripture like style and can be heavy reading, but it is worth completing. The book claims to be a translation of ancient records by Joseph Smith. Towards the end of the book the reader is asked to ponder, and ask God if this is a true account. I have done this and I would ask you to read this account and do the same. Of all the books I have read, I believe this to be the most spiritually powerful and life changing reads.

The Book of Mormon as far as I'm concerned is the Word of God...it is 'Another Testament of Jesus Christ'...it tells of a remnant of one of the Prophets of the Jews...LEHI...being told to move his family away from Jerusalem as the Jews as a whole were going to be taken into captivity...Lehi leads his family into the wilderness and eventually a large ship would be built and the family would sail it to a promised land...the Americas as we know them...here the family broke into two factions...the Nephites and the Lamanites (both names after two of Lehi sons)...covering a time period from around 600BC to around 400AD of these people that inhabited an area thought to be where modern Belize is in Central America.
The Nephites were to know of the coming birth of the Saviour of the World and were given signs that were to occur during their time-frame thousands of miles from Bethlehem...they also were aware that this Saviour would be put to death and three days later be resurrected from the dead...in the Third Book of Nephi it can be read about the visitation of this Saviour...JESUS CHRIST...to the then people, where
upon Jesus declared that they were the people he spoke about in Jerusalem as being the 'Other Sheep'...here Jesus choose Twelve Disciples to carry the work on after he would leave.
There is also a work of the Book of Ether, which recalls the journey of a group of people that left the area of the Tower of Babel and travel to the New World and also records their demise...
The final two books: Book of Mormon and Book of Moroni tells us of the sad demise of a once proud people whom had witnessed the Risen Christ, whose children had received a remarkable blessing and whom had lived a remarkable period of time where Sin wasn't present and Love abounded...
