Morgan Hudson commanded a lot of respect as Buckhorn's biggest, baddest sheriff. How could one petite city women could turn him on his head was a mystery, not to mention being downright aggravating. But Misty Malone did just that, and Morgan couldn't wait till she went back where she belonged. But then he discovered why she'd come in the first place.

Misty Malone had hoped to take refuge with her sister, who'd just married into a familly of sinfully attractive brothers. They all treated her like gold-all but one. Morgan seemed to think she was some sort of femme fatale, out to seduce his brothers. But seduction was the last thing on her mind. Foremost was the baby she was secretly carrying. And then, how to avoid the sexual sparks flying between her and morgan.....

Another winning Hudson brother 1 July 2000
By Barbara O'Neill - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Morgan, the second in the quadruple-title series from Lori Foster, won't let down Hudson fans. As with Sawyer, the book's cover is a disappointment that doesn't come close to how I see Morgan Hudson, but the story is just as entertaining as what I've come to expect from Ms. Foster.

An insufferable man, whose middle name should be "Control", Morgan Hudson is about to learn what it means to be felled by a tiny slip of a woman, what it means to lose that control. The woman in question, Misty Malone, has a lot of things on her mind and getting involved with the local sheriff is not one of them. She's convinced he can't stand her and that suits her just fine. Trouble is, that's not how Morgan feels at all and he has a hard time coming to terms with what he wants and why he wants it.

Misty and Morgan are temperamentally matched - not exactly the ideal for either to win an argument, and there are plenty of battles between these two strong-willed characters. The ice-cream cone battle of wills in Morgan's office is priceless. I actually gasped with the characters at one point. But as Misty learns to accept Morgan for who he is, and comes to love him all the more for it, she also comes to realize that behind the gruff exterior is a gentle man with bouts of insecurity when it comes to her. He also seems to have a devil of a time uttering those three little words.

The showdown between these two, in front of the sheriff's office [and the whole town], is wrenching and humorous and my heart went out to Morgan. It's always fun to watch a tough guy struggle with the realization that he's fallen in love and this tough guy was no exception. The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

Although this installment didn't have the same level of humor as the first, the story again features the entire Hudson brood in kitchen scenes where the easy camaraderie of the men in the family -- who tease, torment, defend and protect their siblings (and spouses) - are a delight to read. We also are introduced to more of the town's residents and to Honey and Misty's father.

Each Hudson is taking on a personality of his own and I'm looking forward to learning more about Gabe.

Morgan is Magnificent! 15 July 2000
By Lisa M. Stevensbaca - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Having just this second finished MORGAN, I hurried to write this review. Lori Foster is a romance writer who understands men and writes them so well as characters that they seem almost like someone you know. MORGAN is a more character driven story than SAWYER was, understandable as SAWYER was the introduction to the cast of characters. The prologue paints a wonderful word picture for us of who this man is inside, without his armor. "It was one of those sweltering hot weekend mornings when a man had nothing better to do than sit outside in his jeans, feel himself sweat and wait for a breeze that wouldn't come." Quickly we learn that Morgan (who we met in SAWYER) is kind of a sleeping beauty, waiting to be woken with a kiss. He is massive, handsome, protective, and honorable but he knows what he needs and just hasn't found it yet. Reading this book, we find Foster has taken more time to help us get to know this family and by the end of it, we wish we knew them personally. Not only is this story a romance, it reminds us of how wonderful it is to be part of a family. It promotes both love and family values to the max. Morgan is just what Misty needs, a man who loves her without reservation for the fact that she comes with the baggage of problems. He recognizes her for the treasure she is and works to make her realize that he wants to build a life with her. He does it beautifully, respectful of her needs, and in the process enchants us all. I can't wait for the next one. This book goes in with my keepers!

Buckhorn's Big Bad Sheriff! 21 Sep 2000
By Lisa Ramaglia, for ScribesWorld reviews - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
MORGAN is book 2 of Lori Foster's The Buckhorn Brothers series. Wow, talk about a scorcher. This man knows exactly how he feels and is very honest and direct about it-to the point of keeping Misty in a perpetual blush. This man, despite his tough-guy cop attitude, has a heart as big as Texas and as soft as a marshmallow. Who wouldn't fall in love with him? Ms. Foster continues to bring us deep, emotional characters in stories that make you feel, make you care; well-written stories with a simmering sensuality that'll have you praying your air conditioner doesn't give out. One Lori Foster book was all it took for me to be hooked for life. Bring on the next Buckhorn brother, Lor, I'm ready!
