Twelve forty-five minute shows from 1972-3 and it is Eric and Ernie at their absolute career best. The series represents by far their best work at the BBC, brilliantly scripted by Eddie Braben with Barry Cryer and others. The production values are noticeably higher than on previous series, with splendid costumes and sets and a stellar guest list including Cliff Richard, Robert Morely, Peter Cushing, Susan Hampshire and the top-notch supporting regulars.

Most of the shows are as good as the best Christmas shows, with Ernest Maxin's lavish musical numbers giving an added touch of class. Standouts include the Cliff Richard 'Fleet's in' and Peter Cushing joining in the song and dance on 'A Couple of Swells'.

The sketches are superb as well with very few duds among the classics. Lots of living room and bed dialogues, which I think are some of the best things they ever did, plus beautifully performed masterpieces like the Chip Connoisseurs and the astonishing Men Who Speak in Unison routine.

Incredible value for money, this volume deserves to be in every comedy student's collection along with Laurel and Hardy, W.C. Fields, Hancock and the Marx Brothers

Eric and Ernie have extended their repertoire...and you can't tell from here!

Series/Season 7 of the Morecambe & Wise Show presents a whopping 12 episodes of nonstop laughter. The shows consist of a variety of special guests such as Cliff Richard, Susan Hampshire, Percy Edwards, Roy Castle, Hannah Gordon, Frank Finlay and Peter Cushing (he still hasn't been paid!).

Watch Eric and Ernie in their comedic attempts to unearth hidden Egyptian tombs, search for the mighty King Kong, outsmart the irresistible Cassanova, and even lay a foundation in their nation's history!

This is definitely a worthwhile purchase. You can't help but watch these shows over and over. If you haven't purchased 1-6, DO IT!! Be on the lookout for Series/Season 8 and 9 in the next couple months!!

This is a collection that will NEVER collect dust!

Bring me sunshine and they did as usual they maybe dead and gone but not forgotten, their humour is as funny today as it was way back when foul language and abusive language were forbidden.

So many comedians today use foul language and its not funny after a while.

These guys never had to resort to that level of abuse....they just used wit and snappy jokes and decent fun.

The entire family (any age) could sit down and watch this without fear of being upset and be certain to be entertained, isnt it shocking that all we get now on TV is REALITY and more reality and never any genuine EQUITY CARD holding genuine entertainment....have we really got to the point where PEOPLE WATCHING IS TV.......thank god we have recordings of these two guys and others from a time when entertainment meant variety and not this stupid people watching reality rubbish of today.

BUY this and be entertained.
BRILLIANT

Whatever happened to that fat woman that came on at the end of the show saying "Thank you all"...ha ha

And the actual end to the long standing joke that was never allowed to be finished on TV was this....

Two old men in deck chairs one said to the other "its cold out is'nt it" the other one replied.....

Well we never got to hear the reply on TV... but the actual reply from the other one was..."Yes I think I'll I get mine out too"

As each of M&W's BBC series get released on DVD it's great to see some of the funniest work outside of their oft repeated Xmas Specials.

The standard remains pretty high throughout and it's always obvious to see why they were the Kings of BBC light entertainment in the 70's. Running gags, effortless chemistry, big star guests letting their hair down, sketches, song & dance numbers - it's all here.

Eric's breaking down of the 3rd wall, mugging and talking directly to camera was always my favourite thing as it felt like he was talking just to me (a feeling shared by Miranda Hart it seems...)

From Cliff & Lulu to Robert Morley & Susan Hampshire, the big names of the time line up to be involved in this 1973 series that still hits more than it misses almost 40 years on.

Sunshine indeed.

What's to say? An absolute must for M&W fans. Some of this material hasn't been seen on our screens for over 35 years, and whilst times and tastes may have moved on, there is still room for these absolute masters of the double act. Buy and enjoy!

These 12 episodes from 1973 are a joy to behold. The opening show marks the first time Eric & Ernie do their hornpipe dance off, and it's amazing something so iconic starts so late in their career (Series SEVEN!!!).
Many highlights. Freed from her curtain call, Janet Webb gets to muscle in one some of the sketches. Although it must be said, some of Ernie's plays do go on a bit - The Mighty Kong with Susan Hampshire is nigh on half an hour!
All three discs come in a standard size box, with the usual style packaging. Only two series of BBC shows left to go, series 8 scheduled for June.
Highly recommended.
