I'm interested in this game but aside from 1 stars for delivery issues, there are identical conflicting review comments for the same issues like - better maps/worse maps, better story/bad story, keep/trade etc, best cod ever/worst cod ever. If it wasn't just for gambling on buying the game outright at the cost of a possible trade later, i'd be half way in the shop and half way out down to Amazon reviews - lol.
To be fair. Half of the 5* reviews were given that score and a note saying they aint played it and were waiting on it.
Remove those, remove the 1* ones for the same thing. Remove both 5* and 1* reviews that are done to bump up and bump down because the game has 'Call of Duty' on and then look again. Either way. I very rarely look at the 5* and 1* reviews (unless it really is garbage like Declassified) because most of the time they just aint accurate. The 3* and 4* ones are usually the most helpful because people actually point out flaws in the game, or bring up the good points. Unfortunately these seem to be voted down the most because they're neither.
Yeah, on a critical point of view, cod has so much ground to cover to make an alround impression that seemingly isn't substantially improving on every annual installment. Activision needs to give it a holiday for it to extrapulate it's true potential on next-gen.
It really is a joke, people who make a whiney 1 star review because the game their mummy bought them didn't arrive. For other people to then write a "review" to tell people to stop 1 star'ing it is just as dumb. Then again who actually buys a game based on Amazon ratings?
My opinion on the game after about 3 hours of multi-player is.. well firstly let me say I hated MW3 only got to like level 40 and just stopped playing because I hated the maps and spawns and it just felt dull. This one really is bringing me back to my cod4 days having fun with the guns on decent maps that aren't too big or too small. I wasn't even going to buy it but I'm glad I did so far. It does seem to be people who hated MW3 like Blops2 and people who liked MW3 hate Blops2.
I kind of feel for gamers who were more set back by Blops 2 not arriving on time that should only occur in a post strike, esp after paying for prime than the variable in game issues that (for some) can become lesser flaws over time. Your comparison with Blops 2 and cod4 has me interested as I think cod4 had the most balanced pound for pound perks system along with your map expectations. I'm kind a waiting on a price drop given the many disappointments seasoned players have expressed.
I'm more looking forward to the systemic values of Far cry 3 which funnily has a lower profile but stacks a better package with what one can create and engage.
