This is an incredible book. The photographs are unbelievable - so unbelievable that I confess it did cross my mind to wonder if some of the subjects were stuffed! However, I'm prepared to give Tim Flach the benefit of the doubt and accept that these are some of the most astonishing photographs of living creatures that I've ever seen. One could raise the criticism that most of the photographs are quite stylized, and many of them tend to anthropomorphize (ie "ascribe human features to") their subjects, but then one has fair warning of that from the book's title. It is possible that it might not be to everyone's taste, but no one could fail to marvel at how it was possible to take some of these pictures.

Every image in the book is breath taking, there are no fillers, all the photography is this book is fantastic. Tim Flach is not an animal photographer, he is an exceptional professional photographer who produces stunning fine art portraits. He photographs these animals in a way which personifies them, gives them human characteristics and makes his images inspirational and moving.

A really wonderful book by Tim Flach. I bought this for my mum who is an artst, she likes portraits, character and lighting and this book is very inspiring in that sense. It has some of the most intimate and enlightening animal portraits I have ever seen, he really brings out the individual characters and plays around with different perspectives. I think anybody would be interested once opening this book, particularly artists, photographers and wildlife enthusiasts but also anyone who appreciates these things. The whole family were sat around marvelling at it and saying how wonderful it was, truly magnificent book. I don't think you could be disappointed by it. Delivery was efficient and quick as expected.

Bought the book after reading about it in a camera magazine. I had a £10 voucher too so it was a very good deal. The book was delivered to the office and had a lot of comments about the quality of the photos and some debate as to whether the animals were alive.

This is a wonderful book of photographa that will not only delight you, but also will make you think. It is a joy to look at and to read. I keep going back to it and continue to be mesmerized by the images. I am jolly glad I bought it!
