Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

As with the first album in this series, the balance of More Music To Watch Girls By is weighted heavily in favour of vocalists. Many of these artists have enjoyed renewed exposure in the late 1990s due to their discovery by British ad firms: in particular Andy Williams, Dean Martin and Perez Prado. Like Music To Watch Girls By, this collection includes a number of popular classics (Tony Bennet's "The Best Is Yet To Come", Matt Monro's "Born Free", Doris Day's "Que Sera Sera" and Frank and Nancy Sinatra's "Something Stupid")' rarities ("Sway" by Perez Prado) and some instrumentals ("Cast Your Fate To The Wind" by Sounds Orchestral, "From Russia With Love" by John Barry, "Casino Royale" by The Jet Set and "Guaglione" by Perez Prado). Another fine vocal lounge collection. --F.B.Hawkes

If you are like me and heading towards the big 40 then this will take you back in parts to the kitchen with your mother baking with the radio playing in the background these songs are the wallpaper of my youth, with lyrics that have remained ingrained. The almost funky beat of On The Rebound should give any current club beat a run for its money, thoe who are younger could do worse than give it a go

This was like plugging into a comfort zone all of your own. After a hard day, hit play and no matter how bad things seem, it doesn't seem so bad with the old crooners. The curious thing is that you seem to know all the songs! Buy it right now.

Although you may have heard only briefly of some of these songs, one play of the CDs will have you singing along as well as air-strumming and drumming. These tracks are simultaneously mellow and uplifting. A real tonic in today's hum-drum of mediocrity masquerading for popular music.
