5.0 out of 5 stars Celebrate the difference! 6 Jun 2009
By Jen Jam
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I would like to see more of the attitude in this book in the world at large. Too many of us ladies try to fit ourselves into this one size fits all, when in fact we all have something beautiful in us.
It also reminded me that there is more to life than dieting, there's a whole wide world out there and we should celebrate and enjoy each day.
The pictures in this book exude happiness and positivity. I would recommend it for those who are just sick and tired of dieting, trying to fit in, just want lose that extra X pounds in order to "fit in". Let's stop beating ourselves up for what we haven't got and start celebrating what we DO have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Happiness in print 2 Mar 2009
By Patricia L. Guarino - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
More to Love by Elizabeth Patch is a book I think everyone should own. Most of my childhood, my teenage years, and my young adulthood I dealt with feelings of inferiority, low self-esteem, and a VERY negative self image - all because of how I looked. I always thought I was too fat, my nose was too big, my chest was too flat, I was too short, etc. I never knew how to be happy with myself and accept what I was given - until therapy - ha. Anyway, I wish I had this book to refer to when I was feeling down - it would've helped tremendously. The lessons taught in this book are what thousands of dollars of therapy did for me. This would've been a lot less expensive and a lot more fun - just look at the adorable illustrations, the bright, happy colors, and the self-affirming statements! Thank you, Elizabeth Patch, for making all of us who may never be on the cover of Vogue believe that we are beautiful and worthwhile just as we are!!

5.0 out of 5 stars chocolate chip cookies for your soul! 1 Mar 2009
By J. Baker - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I've read a lot of books on the topic of body image and self esteem for plus-size women. Some are angry, some are funny, some study the topic in detail with lots of statistics and footnotes, some give techniques for visualizing a new body, other give techniques for dissolving the very real pain that comes with being fat in a thin-centric society, and many are stories about "How I learned to love myself even though I had a miserably unhappy childhood as a fat girl". This book, however, is quite different in 2 ways. First, the writing is short, sweet and to the point. Who can beat a line like "Fat is not a word that fits me"? And second, the illustrations are just adorable! A great gift book for any woman on your list who could use a smile.
5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, positive book for the real woman. 13 April 2009
By Cybele A. Baker - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Too much these days all we see are women who look like as my husband say; "She should eat a sandwich." Forced with these images in our heads everywhere we look it's impossible to look in the mirror and not feel huge, even when we are not, I'm a size 14, this book lets us forgive and enjoy ourselves for who we are.

It creates a positive image for women who've not worn a size 2 since they were 2! It's inspiring and joyful and must have for any woman who thinks they are not attractive just because they are not a single digit size.
5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE this book!!! 3 Dec 2009

This book is such a self-esteem booster! It really has good, common-sense approaches to the bad thoughts almost ALL western women have about their bodies, along with great illustrations of average size women in positive settings (so rare to see in today's age of size 2 models & actresses!) Any time I start to beat up on myself for not being "perfect", I just pull out this book for a smile and a breath of fresh air. My favorite's are "Girl Talk", "New Point of View", and "Summer Pleasures".
