A wonderful heart warming story about two different generations of sisters. Told so expertly with suspense which makes you crave for more.

Format: Paperback
For a story that deals with cancer, suicide, AIDS, adultery, adoption and family betrayal, this is actually a surprisingly lighthearted read.
Gemma falls in love with her housemate Oliver, only to have him stolen away by her younger sister Daisy the very next day. Devastated by this betrayal, the death of her father and her mothers suicide only a month later, she moves to America. Ten years later, after the death of her gay husband, Gemma returns to London, only to discover that she has misjudged both her sister and her mother for so many years.
A unputdownable read! My only criticism is that Oliver doesn't get his comeuppance. He breaks Gemma's heart, treats Daisy badly, and unwittingly provokes Estella's suicide, yet still ends up living happily with another woman by the end of the tale. Sigh......

Not much substance to it and rather predictable. A book that I would have no desire to ever read again.
