Britain has a proud tradition of character-based comedy and More Harry Enfield and Chums is a fine display (if unforgivably short at 38 minutes) of its best modern exponents. Harry Enfield has come a long way since his 1980s beginnings as nouveau-riche loudmouth Loadsamoney and Stavros the Kebab House owner. Now he's one of Britain's most popular and enduring comedians, with a vast gallery of popular catch-phrase friendly creations (Kevin the teenager even got his own feature film, Kevin and Perry Go Large). With this new selection of sketches, all the old favourites are present and correct: Wayne and Waynetta Slob, Kevin and Perry, The Doberman Brothers, The Telecockneys, Tim-Nice-but-Dimand Odd Kid (who uses his new toy cars to work on his ambition of being a traffic warden). An undoubted highlight is Homophobic Dad, who is utterly incapable of understanding his son being gay and drops the most deliriously embarrassing clangers with every breath. The finale is Enfield's version of Titanic, Kevin the belligerent teenager taking the Leo DiCaprio role. --Danny Graydon

Now we've seen most of these characters before: the homophobic dad, Honest John the 'too honest' car salesman, Wayne Slob, Kevin and Perry...Yurgen the ultra modern, next generationn German, who get just a little carried away...
and they still work so well! There's a bonus with this vid though; the 'tele Cockneys' had me in hysterics: this is one of the best ones I've seen...enjoy!

This will probably be the final Harry Enfield and Chums Video, as Harry's moved on to his rather superb "Brand Spanking New Show" on Sky One (which is also relesed on video.) The two series are so different, its difficult to compare them and some people think the new show is funnier, but this is still jolly good fun.
