Book Description

1 Oct 2007
Although DAD STUFF was packed to the gills with ideas for fathers to keep children entertained, it barely scratched the surface. MORE DAD STUFF has magic, puzzles, things to make and games to play, including more to stave off the cry 'Dad, are we there yet?' Dads will be able to impress their families having read the 'Let Me Explain' chapter, explaining the principles behind fridges, gravity and ballpoint pens. Another area often unfrequented by fathers - the kitchen - will reveal many easy and delicious recipes as well as exciting (and possibly messy) science projects. There is a raft of well-disguised mathematical problems and puzzles to get the little ones' brains working. For those rare times, there is a guide on how to handle difficult behaviour (the child, that is, not you). But of course fun is the order of the day in MORE DAD STUFF, where dads will also be shown: how to play the spoons, make your own playdough, play car snooker and learn about disgusting food from around the world as well as how to woof in a foreign language.

5.0 out of 5 stars A continuation of a fine tradition 1 Nov 2007
Format:Hardcover
As any good Dad knows Dad Stuff was essential for entertaining children of all ages. Now that all Dads have shown their hand from the first book along comes More Dad Stuff with a bunch of new ideas of how to amaze and dazzle even the fussiest child. Full of excellent ideas - what to do on a rainy day, what to do in a restaurant, sleepover games and even explanations of those impossible 'why' questions - this is a MUST for all Dads out there. Having just become a Mum I can even say that it can be used by the ladies too. Buy this book for every Dad (and maybe even every Mum) you know.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fabulous resource for people with kids 7 Nov 2013
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
This is an absolutely fabulous resource for those that have small kids or come into contact with small kids and want to wow them (or even just entertain them a bit to keep them from harrassing you). Lots of interesting facts, suggestions for things to do, games to play, kitchen science and challenges for the kids. Covers all sorts of situations, like waiting in restaurants, car and train journeys, parks, sleepovers, parties etc.

I got it when my son was very small (under a year) but it is coming into its own now that he is at primary school, and the ideas should certainly last all the way to secondary (and beyond, some of it I've tried with groups of adults).
