I love checking out the end of year lists on metal websites/magazines, because there's always one or two releases that sneak by me during the year for me to catch up on. This year, Subrosa's 'More Constant than the Gods' is that album.
It's superb, highly inventive doom rock. Just when you think you've heard it all before, something comes along to really impress, and this album impresses on a number of levels. First rate inventive song writing, female dual vocals and violins with a massive guitar tone and solid rhythm section deliver something really unique.
Highly enjoyable, very recommendable, and with plenty of replay value.
I expect the vinyl version will be released early 2014...
