I noticed this first in a magazine I was reading and thought it was a great idea for my Iphone 3G as I found that even though my phone was quite new, I drained the battery extremely quickly. I also much prefer the idea of a case style battery pack rather than one that fits on the end of the Iphone like the Kensington one available because from experience I find these very flimsy and prone to damaging the connectors when in constant use.
The main difference between this and the older Juice Pack is that this is 1300mAh power and the older version is 1800mAh which is larger battery battery.
I purchased the black version from Juice Pack website directly and it arrived very quickly. In the compact box, you get a USB sync/charge cable (which sort of looks like a Mini usb connector but isn't) and the battery pack case. The battery case comes in 2 parts: the main battery part that slides on from the base of the Iphone 3G and covers about ¾ of the phone; and a top cover which slides on from the top of the Iphone to link with the bottom half of the cover. It doesn't cover the front of the iphone at all so you'll want a screen protector if you don't already have one.
The Battery doesn't add too much weight to the Iphone but does increase the depth and height of the Iphone. The length addition isn't so noticeable but will have a definite affect on any belt cases that you might have (mine didn't fit after adding the Juicepack). The increase in depth is however quite substantial as it essentially doubles the thickness of the phone. You can forget being able to connect this thing to your aircurve or anything like that - unless the connector has loads of room for depth of this thing. So if you like the sleekness of the Iphone then maybe you need to reconsider your options.... Read more ›

Excellent, as long as you remember to charge it once you have used it. Makes the phone a little bulkier but a great gadget if you are travelling and use games or the internet which causes the phone to run down really quickly. You only have to switch it on to charge the phone then switch it off for a top up later.

I was in no doubt I was going to buy this product right from the beginning. I was getting fed up of my iphone conking out after a few hours of constant texting, or listening to music on the bus. It was driving me mad!
I came across this product by chance while browsing around, and I am so glad i did! It's a phone cover for your iphone 3/gs that has a built in battery that gives your iphone an extra boost! The top of the case slides off, and you slide your iphone down onto the charger bit, then place the top back on. It has it's own plug, which can be used with the iphone charger, which not only charges the case battery, but your own battery as well. It was a bit misleading though, as the instructions said that the case came ready charge; it did not. I had to charge it myself. Basically once it's fully charged there's a little button at the bottom which lets you switch from using the case battery or your own. It's like having your own back up battery! I won't lie, it does make your iphone a lot chunkier, but that doesnt bother me, it's worth it just to have extra battery power!
Just try it for yourself and you'll never be without it again :)if only I found this ages ago, I wouldn't be driven sooo mad by the pitiful battery that apple supplied!
Another note is that the case doesnt charge as quickly as your iphone. It takes a while, but lasts forever! Lol, hope i helped :)
