Terrific uplifting read 20 May 2007
By Brian - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
While this has little to do with the band. It is a funny book about a card shark who falls in love with a fat rich girl and their road story.

The band was named after the book ... 15 Jun 2007
By CW Smith - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
... not the other way around. Fans of Hunter, Watts & Co. should see this as perhaps an insight into the band's early influences. It is *not* a biography of the band (which didn't even exist yet).

NOT A DUDE 15 July 2005
By THE MAD SHADOW - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I recently purchased this book and was sadly surprised to find out it had NOTHING to do with the band, other than that this was the book that guy stevens got the name for the band from. Worse, on the cover of the book behind the title is a sketchy print of Ian Hunter holding a guitar. This little bit of misleading info caused me to open the package thereby making me unable to return the book for a refund. Other than a curiosity piece for completists of all things Mott, please do not get burned like i did by buying this book.

As far as the actual story, it's your typical narrative-on-the-road type. Again, not bad, but not Mott the Hoople.

Instead, get Ian Hunter's "diary of a r+r star".
