This book is a collection of the Dreamworks artists out of hours stuff, their personal projects and the like. It's a lovely little inspiration book and really showcases the enormous talent within that studio... I'm not a massive fan of Dreamworks movies, like most people I prefer Pixar, but this is more about their talent than their 'work' projects.
Digital, collage, oil, gouache... there are plenty of techniques and mediums on show here and some truly stunning work. Well worth a look.

I recently bought this book and was in no way disappointed. Every single page is full of fantastic artwork, that be drawings and paintings, both digital and traditional. A couple of friends of mine actually said "wow, why do Dreamworks not use any of those designs in thier films? Why do they not use the fantastic creative people they have emploied?". And I must agree. This book really does contain some great character designs and some fantastic backgrounds. And it is a cheap book, well worth the money.

Having own a few DreamWorks art books, I always wondered when their collaborative art book would be out. And it's finally out, as Moonshine.
49 artists from DreamWorks has their personal art featured. This includes art from character designers, visual development artists, production designers and art directors. You will see very familiar names like Nicolas Marlet, Nathan Fowkes, Dominique Louis, Chris Appelhans (typo error on contents page, guys!), Paul Lasaine and a whole lot more of talented artists.
The art is beautiful and varied, ranging from sketches to background paintings. I must point out that this book feels very different from your DreamWorks movie art books as there's no overlaying theme and only personal works are featured.
I do recognise some of their styles and is pleasantly surprised and delighted to find that Samuel Michlap has a few of his impressionist-style paintings inside. Also characters from Nicolas Marlet are easy to spot.
The good part about this book is you get to discover new artists, together with their websites and blogs which are listed in the index. So you can check out even more art online.

Amazing illustrations.
This book was for my husband, we both agree the selection of illustrations are amazing. I love the fact that the artists all have their own style and interests. I recommend it!
